What you say? We get signal? Main screen turn on!!
Okay, Oblivion is supposed to be really amped up in all departments in compairison to Morrowind. So what I ask, is does that apply to Oblivions Economy Dynamics too? Will it be just like Morrowinds, in where you can screw the NPCs over backwards by having a high reputation and bartering skills? In other words, will it yet again be totally unrealistic?
My wish for Oblivion's Economic Structure and Dynamics is, that they would actually exist. What does that mean? It means that different towns would have favored prices for their specialties. Like say.. in Morrowind.. Caldera would be best at producing Ebony Items and selling Raw Ebony. It means NPCs would no longer be fooled by little gifts and hattricks that would allow you to buy from them and immediatly turn around and sell back to them for a higher price. I think Economy Dynamics add great deals of realism to any game. I hope, if it isn't present in Oblivion, that someone would make a Mod for it.
Sporkfed: Do you think Oblivion will have a more realistic market? If so, how so? Do you hope for a Mod if it isn't present? Would you work on a mod if it isn't present? Or do you just think it's not very important. If so, why?

as mutch as i liked in morrowind going around and making my self rich in minutes i would love there to be realistic markets, in fact i would love the challenge of not being able to obtain the uber good armor weapons and specitalties as a low lv cherecter challenge is what makes a game last

Just make sure there is some sort of "Creeper" in there just incase your character doesn't have luck with selling/buying items or is strapped for cash because quest rewards don't give s**t confused .
Don't give him TOO Much gold to give to you, make him have a small amount, but atleast have SOME ONE in the Damn game sell for how much the item is worth and buy for how much the item is worth. I think it's disgusting at how If I sold my Sunder for it's price, NOT A soul would give me that amount EVEN if they had the money. Only the Creeper Would. But do you know how long it would take for the creeper to be able to buy it? xd I didn't think Creeper was at all a "Cheaters" sort of deal, mainly because he only had 5k. That means you would have to really dish out some game time to get money for high level enchants (Like putting something that's Constant Enchant on anything is some WICKED money @_@). HE didn't do anything BUT bartering, he didn't repair armor, he didn't do anything magical, just buy stuff for what it's worth. ONLY thing I didn't like about it was, I could easily get a good 200-300 gold off of him through Mercantile/speechcraft skills. Plus Magic to boost both of them up for like 15 seconds. That I didn't like...That's some what Abusing the game's spells.
I Just want somebody who actually has some sort of "Honorable" pricing and would not allow you to haggel anymore for the item, that way If I sell a dagger that has enchant I can actually get more from it then if I just sold the guy the SAME dagger that had nothing on it at all. I mean, If they didn't put the "Worth" on the damn item, I wouldn't care because then it's up to you how much you think it is worth. But when you put 10k on a Sword and the weapon dealers want only 2k for it...forget it. My desposition was up 100 percent on almost each fuggen weapon dealer I kept alive ( xd ), I even gave them free crap on the side (Like Iron Swords and crap I just wanted off of my inventory and would only pull like 200 septims off of it) and yet they still wouldn't even give me HALF of the sword I needed to sell.
neutral I think they need to add in a "Reward/Dislike" thing. If you do favors for the merchant he will sell you items low and buy items off of you for high IF it's worth it, like...like an Enchanted sword, say it's worth 20k, but he has like 50k on him. Ask for another 5k and you do a simple errand for him. Then later he will see your good for the money and will do tasks for him. That way smile You can join stuff like Cartels or "Syndicate" like things, become a bad guy sort of. 4laugh "WHERES YOUR PROTECTION MONEY IRGOLA?!?" rofl

There is a living economy mod but its stupid. I sold Thoronir enough stuff for him to reach zero. I came back a week later and he was still broke, its more realistic the way it is. However a pawn shop being the only store you could sell stuff to would be cool and the owners merchantile should be maxed out so you get a** raped over prices. Also becoming a merchant would be cool.

It's a game. If I wanted to experience a realistic market, I'd go to the mall.
