I make some and it sucks, but then I found this wonderful site and... I still make a some mistakes, but it definitely has helped me a lot with some more confusing words and terms. A lot of them are obvious, but some it helps with a lot of those not-so-obvious ones.

Also, it's aluminium. Aluminum is wrong and not merely an error made by most Americans due to the fact that advertisers have been misspelling it for years now.

Oh, yes...This list looks familiar...
The one word I always have trouble with is lieutenant..
Ironic, considering that my stepdad is in the Air Force...

I was sure I had found it in one of the stickies in GD or something like that, but I checked and I couldn't find it. It's really useful and has certainly helped me in my grammar nazi ways.

Lieutenant is bad but I think colonel is the worst word in English. It just... It doesn't make any sense!

To the best of my knowledge, Colonel and Lieutenant are words borrowed from French, a practice not uncommon in the English language.

Besides, it may simply be down to aesthetics, Colonel looks much better on paper than the hypothetical misspelling "Cernel", as does Lieutenant look much better that Lefttennant.

Thank you for posting this! I just wish it showed me how to spell hemhorrage hemorrhage. Not that..I would be using that word often though; at least, hopefully not. :')
