Some of my fish like the skittles but more of them like the loam flakes.

I can't really tell. I'll have to check out a few Aquarium FAQs to see if this information about Skittles food has been updated...

I'm not finding much info either. Sure wish Gaia would publish specs on fish. They seem totally unwilling to explain anything in any detail.

So far, most fish seem to like the skittles food. (They display hearts.) Cuttlefish don't display a heart, so I guess they don't care for it much. Octopii, however, get angry when you feed them skittles - or at least mine does.

the green cat fish doesn't like either food but all my other fish seem to like both.

My cuttle fish gave me a black grumble bubble so I'm going with they hate skittles... but I do feed them both... why not?

I feel like a fool. I've been misinterpreting the hearts. They don't reflect whether or not the fish like the food - they reflect whether or not the fish like the aquarium settings for light, temperature & music. Duh! (facepalm)
With that in mind, I've no idea how to interpret the different reactions my fish have to Skittles vs Loamflakes. I've posted a question about that in the Fish Lab thread - hopefully someone there can figure this out. It indicates something - but what? Not sure.
