Well I dont see how that works considering they are the same person. This is just my opinion though. To me, I see no difference except for looks. So...neither. :]

Actually... That's a really interesting question. They are basically the same person, but having grown up in deifferent circumstances in different worlds, they do fight very differently.

In that case, I would have to say Squall. Junctioning doesn't exist in Kingdom Hearts, so Leon loses an awful lot of his potential. No summons, for one. Summon mechanics work differently in every Kingdom Hearts game, but Leon doesn't even seem to know about summons, seeing as in the first game he kept Simba's gem as a "lucky charm." Plus, summons were just a crapload more useful in VIII than in Kingdom Hearts. Squall can also use abilities like Recover, which is a godsend to say the least, and can use any magic, whereas Leon is only shown to know fire magic.

Leon is, of course, still pretty strong... He helps in the big Radiant Garden battle (was it still Hollow Bastion at that point?) and fights Nobodies, so there's some proof. I, however, don't think it's quite enough to stand up to the Squall that kicked future-Sorceress butt.

Leon is nothing more than a more kid-friendly, pathetic, ripoff version of Squall. i refuse to even recognize them as the same character. when i saw how lame they potrayed him in KH, i was shocked. he was too easy to figure out, so he was easy for me to beat. plus, he seems to have a diffrent attitude than the REAL Squall. Squall is an anti-social badass who slowly learns to appriciate his friends, while leon is more like the guy who pretends to be a badass so everyone thiks he looks "cool". Leon is a poser, and i hate posers.

Squall wins, no exceptions.

honestly, i think leon tripping and falling is what gave him his scar. squall, however, got his from his rival. and the long hair and biker outfit kills leons version of squall. and... where the hell is rinoa!?

Um... I'm not quite sure I understand what makes Leon an idiot. confused You realize why Squall is how he is, right? He's basically got abandonment issues. We don't know much about his past in Kingdom Hearts, but I'm willing to bet it didn't include the whole Ellone issue. His past is different, so he developed differently, and while it would be awesome if Rinoa were in Kingdom Hearts, she isn't absolutely necessary in order for Leon to exist. The way I see it, Leon is Squall, but he is not the Squall from VIII. You can't expect his story to match up entirely. By your logic, Aerith shouldn't even be in the game because she's already died.
