Cetalese and Alinna loped down to the Candidate Barracks, dressed in their practice gear and seeming fairly relaxed. The two had become fast friends after they'd Impressed, having enough similarities and differences to compliment one another nicely, and spent as much time together as possible, since it was unlikely that they'd get as much free time-- outside their Weyrling lessons and chores-- when they were riders.

"There's no guarantee they'll even be there at this time of day, if Myrelli has them doing work or studies," Cetalese pointed out.

"Nice to try, though, hm?" Alinna replied, her brown eyes amused. "Besides, who better to help them than Senior Weyrlings, who have been through it all? Then, when the few of them who can Impress do, they'll know they can turn to us for advice and answers when they're Junior Weyrlings."

"Alinna," Cetalese said warningly, but a smile played on her lips. "More than a few."

Alinna shrugged, smiling teasingly at Cetalese. "You know what I mean."

They reached the doors to the Barracks and Ceta let Alinna step up first, halfway looking around her friend to see if anyone was inside, trying to keep warm from the bitter winter cold.

"Hello, hopefuls," Alinna greeted fairly seriously, surveying the mostly-empty room.

Sometimes I don't know when she's joking, Cetalese thought to her Blue. Alinna and she had left their dragons sleeping in the communal Weyrling Barracks.

If she is like Koriganth, than it tends to be up in the air on that, mine, Levaeth replied, a rumble of a laugh in his voice. They aren't nearly as interested in playing as I am.

Cetalese smiled to herself at that, and stepped up fully next to Alinna, placing a hand on the doorframe as she looked into the room with a friendly expression on her face.

Caught totally unawares, Epeelyn could only stare up at the two weyrlings, head tilted to the side in surprised curiosity while she balanced on her hands, spine curved slightly in a graceful arch to keep her balanced right. She had been practicing alone for the most part in one of the empty rooms that littered their barracks. The tumbler turned candidate hadn't expected she'd be interrupted at all, so the two females had given her quite a start.

However, while Epee couldn't quite find the words, the other occupant of the room gracefully unfolded himself from his position on the floor and against the wall to stand to his full height of over six feet so he could properly greet the girls. Running a hand through his shaggy, blond curls he grinned at the pair. "Uh, hi, we weren't really expecting anyone." he said. "I'm Falin. The speechless one over there is Epeelyn, but she prefers Epee to anything."

"Hey! I can speak for myself!" The girl was now standing back on her feet, wiping her hands on her scruffy pants as she looked over the two weyrlings with interested amber eyes. "So, what brings the two of you here of all places? Shouldn't you be training or something?" she asked them, very curious. She walked closer to stand beside the much taller male, arms crossed in a relaxed stance as she waited for a reply to her question.

"We just came down to see the Candidates for the next Clutch," Ceta spoke up quietly, smiling widely. She and Alinna walked into the Barrack and she offered a feminine, but strong hand for Falin and Epeelyn to shake.

"Even Weyrlings get breaks sometimes, and giving advice and answering questions for Candidates was the best thing we could come up with."

"Alinna," Cetalese whispered again, glancing harshly at her friend, though she smiled. Alinna just raised her eyebrows at Cetalese.

"I'm Alinna, rider of Brown Koriganth."

"And I'm Cetalese, of Blue Levaeth," Cetalese said, still all smiles, though she was certainly being quieter than Alinna. She pushed a dark curl out of her face and back to the thick clusters of them tumbling down her back.

"We figured that if any of the Candidates were around they might have questions not even Candidate Master Myrielle had answered that older Weyrlings might be able to." Alinna's lips quirked in a wry smile. "We should be around for when you all become Weyrlings. If you Impress."

Cetalese smiled again and ducked her head. That was Alinna all over.

"So, what happened to the other Candidates? At their studies or hiding?" Alinna asked, waving a hand at the empty room.
