edit: so far I've gotten suggestions that the story should be about a group during a time called clockwork opression that hunts down non-humans and puts them into designated sanctuaries, but is extremely strict to them.
I'd like to propose a group arena entry....similar to the previous clockrisk one but by no means a copy....they've shown the best of the best of human steampunkers, What about non-humans?
In a fantasy steampunk world where ether exists, why not show the other races?? what would they dress like, what would they BE?
as a steampunk sand elf merchant myself, I would find this EXTREMELY interesting, seeing the cultures of other races depicted.
now of course orcs wouldn't be AS steampunky as the others, but could still coexist quite well.
Let me know if you guys are interested. I think this would be pretty....fun, and might bode well due to increasing popularity in things such as this.
We would be making nifty banners and a storyline, so...if anybody wants to help me write that, be my guest :]
edit: stuff so far about some races:
Elves!
Three types of elves, dark elves, wood elves, and sand elves.
Wood and dark elves still live in the forest, limiting their technology and practicing hard magicks. Sand elves travel and leave in man-made forests called Brass junctions in desert cities, they too use magic but are avid treasure hunters and more known to the outside world, though there are few left.

Oh! This sounds exciting. I would be in, though I haven't the foggiest idea as to what race I would explore... Nor do I know the most rudimentary aspect of submitting an avatar. ^^;
EDIT:
Wait! I have an idea!
I claim the Garuda, New Crozubon style.

Nah, though Harpies are kickass.
Garudas are Indian lesser deities, having bird-like features. They usually have a bird's head, like an eagle or hawk, wings on the back, rather than on their arms like harpies, and usually have bird-like legs. Some have normal legs, and they're usually strong.

well I already have my avatar xD just...finding...little accesories, I desperately wis for bolts and screw jewlry xD little knicknacks...and I want a money pouch =.=
