So Arceus was announced a while back and I'm sure most of us knew about it long before the official announcement. It's made to be the most versatile pokemon. It's able to defend, attack, sweep, support, and can even change it's type. It's also supposed to be like the "God" of all pokemon. Which makes me wonder how Game Freak will out do themselves in the 5th Gen. xd What do you think they will do next? And what role would you use Arceus for? Or would it be another pokemon to just rot away in your storage? :U

that is if they make a 5th gen which they might do i hope so lol but they might not do they might just keep on making remakes and maby and a new evolution of something here and there

There will most definitely be a fifth gen. If not because Pokémon is so beloved and ingrained into the Japanese culture, then simply because it will continue to make Nintendo money. I don't plan on quitting Pokémon any time soon; What about you guys? The Japanese sure don't plan on quitting any time soon, either.
However, don't forget that the Japanese have no concept of a "one supreme God", so these "How will they top GOD?!" debates are kinda pointless. Arceus is not the be-all-end-all; He isn't even officially a "God". That was a title the fandom gave him. And while I do acknowledge that "creator of the universe" would be a hard thing to top, WHY does GameFreak have to top it? Where is this rule that states that each new gen's legendaries have to be higher up on the imaginary hierarchy than the previous gens'?
Though personally, I see Arceus as the king of a pantheon of deities, much like Zeus was in Greek mythos. There's no need to make something better than him, especially when there's tons of other areas GameFreak could focus on filling out. What about a "queen"? Or deities/legendaries of elements/ideals they haven't touched yet?
tl;dr: There's no reason for future gens to top Arceus, even if he's not the "one supreme God" everything thinks he is.

"Yeah, that's a good concept....I mean, do we want a pokemon that can destroy the universe with just the blink of an eye to try to top Arceus? xP The vgcats comic demonstrated this very clearly....why make more gods or more powerful pokemon that could do this to our world? xD Just make something simple that look over something or command a certain place on a map"http://www.vgcats.com/comics/

I READ THAT COMIC.
And it already Is rotting away in my PC. Some six year old hacked a Flute into his game, and I "tricked" him into trading it for my Milotic. His event Deoxys went for my Fire Red Mewtwo.
...Maybe the true powers of Mew will be revealed, and it could change form just like Shaymin. Nintendo has made it seem like Mew is some incredible powerful being strong enough to oppose Mewtwo and learn every move, so why not a truly powerful form?

I was wondering when someone would ask this question. I think Game Freak will eventually make a 5th generation, or at least a game where you can access all of the regions together.

If they do make a 5th Gen, I think it would be cool if they did some legendaries of other cultures. I mean if they looked into anchient Greek mythology they would never run out of ideas because of the amount of mythical creatures beings.
