Everything was all set up, Osiri thought, as she made final preparations at the front of the club. The DJ had a few tracks prepared as mice came in and made their way to the sign-up sheet posted on the wall, and cheesey refreshments were slowly being brought out by the caterers.
She'd read in her mail-order business class notes that the best way to draw more people to an establishment was through special events. And, well, open mic night sounded like it would draw some pretty interesting talents, or so she hoped.
If it flopped, she supposed she could get the DJ to keep things going, but she was more than a little curious at the hidden talents of club-goers. Guess we'll see, she thought, then unlocked the doors and switched on the orange neon sign, signaling that the club was open for the evening.

((Is this only for the Drow? XD)) Vivara slowly walked into the club, fidgetting slightly with the flower behind her ear. She looked around as the music pulsed. She didn't really like clubs too much buit her sister insisted she went to one, but so far she isn't liking it too much. She mumbled as she walked further anyways.
Kaye, on the other hand was very excited. She was bored of watching her sister grow her stupid herbs and flowers, what fun could that be? She spun the ring around her tail and skipped inside the club, feeling comfortable as the music engulfed her.

Muon spotted the orange sign. It went with his fur perfectly. What could be better? He'd neglected to tell Tiel it was open-mic night, but he hoped he could pressure his friend into doing something on stage. He was gloomy, he probably wrote poetry or something. As he entered, the club was still somewhat dead, but Muon was determined to have fun, and hey, there were females here already!
Tiel groaned as Muon dragged him in by the paw. Nightclubs? Big crowded places full of noisy places? Great, just what he wanted. A quick glance reassured him that the club wasn't exactly full, even if the music was terrible. He spotted a row of seats in the corner and slunk into one gratefully.

Osiri watched as the four mice entered, much more pleased with herself than she had been a few moments ago. Maybe there was something to this audience participation thing. She prodded the DJ to make sure that the music was enticing enough, and debated making rounds of the floor. Was that what managers were supposed to do? She'd seen it done at fine restaurants, but she doubted that her club operated on the same principle.
Instead, she settled with going back over to the DJ's table, commandeering the microphone herself, and making an announcement.
"Welcome to the Big Cheese! If you're interested in showing off your talents, tonight's the night. Sign-up's at the front table-- show us what you've got."
She tried to sound enthusiastic, but it was difficult trying to command respect and entice people to look like fools (or not) at the same time. Oh well. She went along her rounds to pester the chefs and make sure that food was in order.

Vivara sighed, "This was the talent show you dragged me into?" Vivara shook her head, a talent show at a club? Waste of her time. She dragged a thimble and herbs all this way for this?
Kaye nodded, "Yup! I'm going to sign us up!" she smiled and ran over to the table before Viv could complain, "You're little 'magic' trick' is great!" she yelled back. Kaye scribbled their names down and walked back with a smug smile.
