so the other day a bass drum and a trumpet tried twriling flags.
it shwas quite amusing because they have been like the only people to actually catch on quickly!
they even started doing tosses. xd
do your bandos ever try twirling your flags?

Haha, yeah. One of my sax friends is actually getting pretty good at doing drop spins.. Haven't tried to teach her how to toss yet. xp

Quite a few bandos have graduated the "doing nothing this winter season" thing and are in guard. Let's see...
One captain is a french horn in concert.
Three JV members are flutes.
One is a tuba (more on this fellow later).
One is a clarinet. Maybe two.
One is a trumpet.
Our guard is crawling with bandos. But the funny thing is, I've taught more of them how to spin even though they aren't going to do guard. Some of them are remarkably good and some... well, there's no nice way to say it.
But the tuba guy... boy, he impressed a fair number of people at tryouts. Nearly no one believed that he would even do guard, they thought he was joking, so the fact that he let me teach him and practiced and succeeded impressed teh captains and coaches. ^^

do your bandos ever try twirling your flags? haha did u SEE james trying? >.< he kinda gave up and did his own thing after i taught him the dropspins...but he's always interested in seeing if he can do it lol his idea of tossing is throwing the flag 8 inches in the air... blaugh

Oh, gawd. In our band, if anyone outside you section touches equipment from you section, they die. So if a bandie just picked up a flag during rehearsal and started spinning it, whosever flag it was gets in trouble along with the bandie that was spinning it. rolleyes

Neko Kafweenu Oh, gawd. In our band, if anyone outside you section touches equipment from you section, they die. So if a bandie just picked up a flag during rehearsal and started spinning it, whosever flag it was gets in trouble along with the bandie that was spinning it. rolleyes yea that happened...my friend just held it and my captain yelled at me stressed

Yeah, for someone's senior project last year like two of the band people joined a chick's show, one was a trumpet and another was a flute. This Year Im teaching 2 freshman boys how to spin for my senior project. Both of them are form low brass. Its going to be really hard. But yeah the trumpet girl is marching trumpet for falla nd then joins winterguard. She has Show Corps so that she is spining all year! Its really kewl! But yeah other people just try and then they hit themselves and then go away and don't try again lol!

haha in my school, to be in color/winter guard..you HAVE to be in band!! hehe its one of the requirements..all the woodwinds are marching guard and the brass and woodwind combine in the winter for winterguard! it actually works out really well..our guard has done amazing the past 2 years biggrin i love it!

XD u should see us in real life... in the show we did split work so she did this move that i didnt do, and i made fun of her because it looked like she was doing the robot..so whenever the coaches are talking about the move me and her look at each other and start to do the real robot randomly XD

Although I'm not so sure our 'lovely new sabres' really look that new anymore ... or at least mine doesn't ... <<;;
