The Tarin Mountains lie to the north of the Calith Plains, seperated by only a low range of foothills. During the winter these mountains are impassable, except by the stronger flying creatures and the inhabitants of the mountains. In the very depths of winter, no creature without the capacity for flight can travel in the ranges. There are three small towns that are known to exist in these mountains, though ancient texts hint at more. These towns are Tyrnat, Gylindith, and Ranhein, in order of decreasing population. Map: Current Conditions: Snowed in. In these harsh, tall, mountains, only the magical Snow Cats and a few rodents under the snow can travel. If it snows much more, even they will be trapped in their dens.

Windstar Clearfeather's wings had begun to falter an hour ago in the cold air above the mountains, and she was getting desperate to find a place to land for the night before continuing south to the plains. As she looked around one more time, she caught sight of a town, in an unlikely spot on one of the mountains. She veered towards it and began her descent.

For some reason, the winds were faster and more chaotic at the lower elevations Windstar was now passing through. She landed - more like crashed, but she survived, for the most part unharmed - and walked into the town.

Solana hovered above the floor of a small open cave, she had magicked a fire into a small alcove, and was sitting warming herself, as she saw a lady land in the snow, out in the harsh winds.
Solana had stopped her flight across the mountains to warm up and suspected that the stranger wished to do the same.

Solana floated over to the door, still in her origional sitting position, it was cery easy to use her wings to propel herself across the cave, for the cave opening was at just the right angle to hide from most of the winds.
She hovered about waiting to see if the stranger would come over. In a moment or two Solana was sure she would be in the Lady's view.

Fox stumbled across the banks of snow. It seemed like the snow storm would never let up. Her food supplies were running low, only a loaf of bread and a small chunk of meat. She didn't worry about water, she'd only have to melt the snow. Unfortunatly, she had difficulty finding animals to hunt. They all seemed to be taking shelter from the storm. "That's what I need right now, but where will I find-" She stopped muttering to herself when she noticed a cave. "Thank god." Fox hurried over to it as fast as she could. Due to fatigue, she collapsed on the floor asleep immediatly.

I'd have deleted her posts but she said she'd try to come back eventually.)) I realized this. I just couldn't think of any better type of shelter! ^_^; but thanks for the reminder! 3nodding

He shook the snow from his mane as he got up from a crouched position underneath an outcrop of stone. He didn't like the cold very much.. the repitilian parts of him were making him feel weak and starving for sunlight. He let out a soft breath that condensed and flew away as he stepped out onto the rocks then managed to scramble onto the outcropping of rocks.. The snow was light, so he could see quite a bit of Gantarin... The inn and the shoreline, he wondered if he could swim to someplace warmer, or if the whole damn place was this cold.. Without a second thought he went racing down towards the shore.

He grumbled to himself with all the cold, and being so very impulsive.. He simply decided to take another route... hopefully easier for him to nativigate. He sprang gracefully from rock to rock... Making a careless thundering noises with his hooves as he headed for the Calith Plains, but halted quickly as he noticed a strange black and white thingy approaching the mountains... He decided to head for this creature instead.

Fox slowly opened her eyes to the blinding light reflecting off the snow. At first she didn't realise where she was, but remembered finding the cave at the last moment the previous night. She brushed off the small layer of snow that fell on her during the night when the wind blew it in. She was cold and started to hug herself, trying to get warmer.
Fox quickly decided to start a fire. Slowly she stood up and left the cave. Fox began hunting for dry wood, if there was any in this snow. Her growling stomach made her pick up the pace.

Kitty panted very quietly as she came up the mountains. At first it was nearly impossible for her to walk; she was so not-used to it. A few times she would stumble and hit a tree. Obviously, over time, she got used to it and was acctually able to walk up the mountain, heading for an area she saw smoke. Smoke=people. She heard the sound of hooves trotting toward her and she looked up and smiled, trying to have a friendly first impression.

He approached more carefully now, wondering if she was human, but couldn't smell humanity on her. He shook his enormous winter mane of snow and snapped his hooves down against the rocks... Making thunderous echoes as a warning, and a greeting... Then he came up to her and looked her over curiously, sniffing at her hair.
