Titanium: The Mendel
Name: Titanium Tube Date: 07/29/2004 Age: Teen/5 years Physical Appearance: Looks, for the most part, like an anthropomorphic snake. He has a cobra hood, slitted eyes, gets around with a snake tail, very small pointy teeth (like a python's set of fangs, really), and while he does have arms, his hands just have two fingers apiece. So far, one of the most animalistic looking of the Mendels. Eye Color: Yellow Likes: Dislikes: Favorite Color: Favorite Food: Favorite Music:

Titanium: The Element
+ Origins
- The element is named after the Titans, in Greek mythology the sons of Uranus the sky god and Gaia the Earth goddess. They were of course, later captured and imprisoned by Zeus, the king of the gods and Uranus' youngest son. The titan Prometheus is the one who brought people fire.
+ Atomic Number: 22 + Characteristics
- silvery metallic; when pure, is lustrous and white - as strong as steel but much less dense - can withstand extremes of temperature - excellent corrosion resistance - The metal burns in air and is the only element that burns in nitrogen
+ Uses: - important as an alloying agent with many metals - principally used in aircraft, missiles, ship hulls (has excellent resistance to sea water) - largest use: in the form in titanium oxide-- used in house and artists' paint - It is marvellous in fireworks - The dioxide was also used once as a bleaching and opicifying agent in porcelain enamels, giving them a final touch of great brightness, hardness and acid resistance.
