Ok so i just read on the internet that RTD is thinking of making a forth series. And i thought they couldnt do anymore because of ianto dying and jack leaving. But i was wrong. http://www.denofgeek.com/television/266944/torchwood_series_4_ready_to_go.html
"During the session, Davies revealed that the fourth series is "ready to go" but is entirely dependent on how the third series performs. The showrunner also revealed that he would be willing to do the show for the next ten years and wanted more crossovers with its 'parent' show, Doctor Who. RTD also added that The Doctor is mentioned in the last episode of Torchwood: Children of Earth." He says it al counts on the ratings the 3rd series gets. So i hope it good cause i want to see a 4th.
But considering that season 3 got over 6 million views i think they will.

Just finished Series 3 and I figured I'd pop in. Series 3 can easily be RTD's best work. He took Torchwood to new levels by taking global responsibility from superpowered heroes and giving it to "normal" humans in the military and government.
Incredibly powerful, and incredibly bittersweet. I was very, very torn by Ianto's death. I thought I'd be able to see a gay couple survive onscreen for once but I guess I'll have to wait a bit longer.
Personally, I'm not really that keen on a Series 4 of Torchwood. It's done. A different series, maybe. But I think the story of Torchwood has ended. When everyone is gone or dead, I think it's time to move on...

i thought that it would finish after the 3rd season but i am so glad they went for a 4th

Jusy, I'm feeling kind of like you are. Gutted. And Torchwood can never be Torchwood again. Save Ianto How amazing would it be if this worked?

Yea i see what you guys are saying. Torchwood is gone, the hub evrything. But jack is goign into the christmas ep of doctor who. So who knows what could happen. we'll just have to wait and see.

I think that this show has lived up to its expectations. And with the ending of the 3rd season, or mini series, (was fighting back tears) I'll have to say that I'm thoroughly satisfied with what I got out of it. It took me through many different twists and turns, from the weird and strange, to the sensual and lusty, to the creepy and horrifying. I enjoyed every minute of it, and... As much as I would like to see a 4th season appear, I just don't really see how they could do it. But, those guys over there can work some serious magic in their writing department. Let's see what happens in the near future.

So i found out that the 4th season has been comfirmed and it will start things in January 2010. "After the airing of Children of Earth, a BBC America representative announced that a fourth series of Torchwood had been commissioned. On 12 November 2009, the show's creator Russell T. Davies confirmed that Series 4 is 'in the works' and that he is expecting to get started in January 2010."*Link*

I read in torchwood magazine that they gave Fox9 the channel) torchwood, they were in the makes of a pilot.

RTD isn't going to bring him back so far as i know, but Torchwood Magazine will have more about it in their next issue (September/October). I hope they bring back Ianto too! (n~n)
