Uhuru was dazed. He had only been outside of the jungle for a little while and he was already sick of the intense brightness of the sun and the unfamiliar territory he was in. For the first time in his life he'd admit he was quite ready to go home.

Now the jungle really wasn't that far away. However, Uhuru was a difficult leopard and was too stubborn to accept that fact.

Yakuti was used to wandering. Though she had only been doing so for a while now, it felt very natural. She had loved her mother and siblings, but staying with them had always been a reminder of what they were missing, though her mother always told the story of their father fondly. She was reluctant to take it as more than a sugar coating, as opposed to the truth. Though she'd never admit it to herself, this ease in travel was from the very father she had such little respect for.

What was she doing now? She wasn't sure. She told herself she was just looking for something to do with her life and tried not to notice that every even slightly flirtacious male she came across the cut deeply and quickly with words and contempt. When this sort of self-awareness rose, she simply justified it; they deserved everything they got.

Now she was resting in the tall grasses, the stalks reaching for the sky just above her head. It was very hot, out here at this time of day...she wasn't surprised, she just...took it in.

Uhuru had willingly left his parents as a cub in hopes of great things. However, he was sorely disappointed by his inability to achieve his goals increasing his bitterness towards, well, everything. Nobody stuck around and he had gotten used to this long ago. Attempting to leave the jungle now had been one of his ideas to further his life because quite frankly, there wasn't much to do there.

Realizing now that the world outside held, just about as much excitement, he turned to leave the blinding sun and sun-dried grasses behind him. However, this proved harder than he thought it would be seeing as between himself and his sanctuary was a fiery creature, that resembled himself in a way, resting in front of him. He stopped, unsure of what actions to take next.
