As Sky walked down 5th Street to the Deli, she saw a sign that stood by the front door, "Sample Cheeses Avaliable..." Sky read. She smiled and walked into the Deli.
"Hello Anna!" Sky greeted, "Sample Cheeses? What are those for?" She knew they were most likely for eating, but it could also mean mice as well. Would that possibly mean free mice? Anna was always looking for owners.

"Ah! Good afternoon, Sky," Anna said from the table she was industriously wiping down, smiling as she recognized her frequent customer. "Those are...well, a lot of stores have samples of some sort, you know." She scratched her head. "I figured maybe I could use them, draw some people in...except the mice seem intent on ravaging the sample bowl. I don't think I'd eat those if I were you." She turned back to her cleaning.

Sky looked at the sample bowl, "I'd assume mice would go for those, they're not covered by anything either," she nodded. Then she thought for a bit, "Well I could take another mouse if you'd like!" Sky smiled. They were pretty adorable, except her newest mouse Cecile seemed to be obsessed with candles and fire.

"Well, if you want to try to catch a mouse with one, you're free to," Anna said, walking behind the counter to get a plate. "You already know how it works."

Sky nodded and took the plate, putting a piece of cheese on it and placing it in the same place as last time, "I'll come back in a day or two for the mouse," she smiled.

The cheese chilled in the corner, undisturbed, for a while. Anna carefully avoided it while she was working, though she was somewhat concerned that it was becoming moldy...

Sky ran back to the shop a few days later, "I'm sorry I came back late a few days, has the mouse taken the cheese yet?" she asked hopefully.

"Well, err..." Anna peered at the forgotten cheese. "I think that fuzzy blue lump there in the corner is it...but some mice really like moldy cheese. Don't give up hope!" She finished brightly.

Sky frowned a bit, but then shrugged, "Oh well! If any mouse comes along and I can provide it a home, I am happy," she chuckled, "Though I do hope it's tastes do not reflect it's personality..." She didn't think Viv or Kaye would like it if a messy mouse came along. Her Drow Clan mouse would probably force the new comer out at well, Cecile was quite violent to those who had gross habits. But Sky was sure it would work out in the end.

Anna glanced worriedly at the cheese. "Mice that like moldy cheese...tend to have bad breath."
Meanwhile, in some other corner of the deli, a mouse, attracted by the delicious (?) scent of moldy cheese, dreamily began padding in the general direction of the cheese.

Blinking a few times, Sky thought of everything that could go wrong, but then smiled and shook her head, "Meeting different kinds of mice couldn't be bad for anyone," she hoped that the group would accept the new mouse as he or she was. She didn't notice the small figure and she didn't hear the soft patter of feet approach the cheese.
Dexter liked to keep very clean, so did Kaye and Vivara. Cecile didn't mind getting her paws dirty, but it'd have to have some reason to it, something in it for her. But she also liked proper sanitation.

"At any rate, mice can usually find their own niche in a group," Anna nodded, not seeing the mouse padding lightly towards the cheese. The mouse that approached the cheese had apparently spent a little too much time playing in the toxic waste from the genetic lab across the street. She smelled slightly like industrial chemicals, but, on the positive side, she didn't have bad breath...her own radiation killed the bacteria that usually caused it. That didn't stop her from being attracted to the foulest of cheeses, though...the way she moved was like a mouse from a cartoon, lead directly by her nose.

Sky saw a glow from the corner of her eye, and realized there was a mouse slowly crawling towards the cheese, "Oh my!" she gasped as she saw the mouse being led by it's nose towards the smelly cheese, "Where has that mouse been?" Sky wondered if it was even possible for a mouse to glow like that, "But what beautiful colors!" She exclaimed happily.

Anna glanced at the glowing mouse, eyebrow raised. "You might want to handle that one in a radiation suit..."
The mouse eagerly pounced on the cheese and chewed it in utter bliss, especially savoring the moldy bits.

Sky blinked, "I usually don't bring radiation suits with me... Do you have any gloves?" she asked. Cecile and the others will be interested to see this mouse. Well at least it can't have bad breath!
