Well my friend is kinda new to competitive battling and I offered to make him a decent team to use. He told me two pokemon he definitely wanted to use which are Electivire and Gyarados. He prefers using offensive pokemon to sweep through the opponent. So I just need some ideas that would work well with these two and could set up for a sweep.
So here are the movesets/EVs/everything else.
Electivire@Expert Belt Ability: Motor Drive Nature: Adamant EVs: 4 HP / 252 Atk / 252 Spd Moveset: Thunderpunch / Ice Punch Cross Chop / Earthquake
Electivire is used to take those Electric hits that Gyarados can't. It's kind of a counter to Porygon2. It comes in on Porygon while it uses Thunderbolt and Electivire gets the Motor Drive boost. Then it can use Cross Chop to defeat it and possibly sweep the rest of the team with the speed boost. ------------------------------ Gyarados@Life Orb Ability: Intimidate Nature: Jolly EVs: 4 HP / 252 Atk / 252 Spd Moveset: Dragon Dance / Waterfall Ice Fang / Earthquake
Just a typical Gyarados DD sweeper.
So any ideas? I'd kinda like something that could set up entry hazards to break sashes and make sure the opponent's pokemon don't survive the hits.

Either Skarmory and Forretress can help you with that. Most usually go with Skarmory because of the stealth rock/ whirl wind combo, but if you want to completely set up the field, Forretress is a good stable wall that has the access to spikes, toxic spikes, and stealth rock.
If you use him, I would suggest giving him spikes or toxic spikes over stealth rock because of the ratio of pokemon who both can set up stealth rock safely is higher than those who can set up stealth rock.

But on a serious note I actually think the gyarados (Sorry on the spelling)
Is better off with crunch than waterfall. Earthquake hits for supereffective almost everything waterfall does. An so you cant hit glisor ok well ice fang has a 4X weakness on him I'm sure that with a dragon dance and life orb you'll one hit ko it.
Crunch still gives you the flinch benifit that waterfall does and if someone puts a psychic tank like uxie in front of you or a gengar that is most def going to know thunderbolt you have a supereffective move ready an it will probly kill or do some serious damage to their counter for ur gyarados. Just seems more versatile.
Thats just me though.

i agree with ikubak, but crunch doesn't inflict flinching,it lowers SD,which would be useless for gyarados...but still crunch, though(also crunch has 100% accuracy)

I would have to dis-agree with both of you friends. After all, crunch is pretty ideal move, but gyrados gets a stab bonus from waterfall being a water type move increasing that move's power from 80 to 120. (20 power higher than EQ with the ability to hit flying type pokes and levitating pokes with neutral damage.)
The way gyarados sweeps, is not by type trumping, but beefing his already high attack power with sword dance and straight up attacking. As long as a pokemon recieves neutral damage from waterfall, most likely a 1 staged DD Gyarados with a life orb, choice band, or water plate, will undoubtingly be a force to be reckon with.
The only reason why EQ is considered in the equation is because of its type coverage as well as being a high power attack. (though he doesn't recieve the stab bonus for such an attack.)
