1 - I just bootygrabbed. The first amount is what I earned, but what's the second for?
2 - Is it possible to get fish without cash? (I haven't checked the mp, since I don't have a trading pass.)

1. the second number you see is the amount the tank owner has earned from your booty grab. it doesn't take away from your earnings. the tank owner earns roughly a quarter of what you grabbed from their tank.
2. you can't buy fish with just gold in the shops. disappointing i know = /...
all gaia cash there. people do sell fish on the mp for gold but they are usually costly, especially if they give out more gold during booty grab. so you are just gonna have to get a trading pass if you wish to have better fish. or you can join a contest thread (such as the sushi bar, found in my sig) and you could be eligable to win a fish or gold or aqaurium items. just read the rules and you should have mounds of fortunes in no time!

To add on to what Violet said, a trading pass is your best friend if you don't want to spend cash (as is the only way to obtain some items). Some fish might be expensive but start small. As your tank begins to grow you can buy more expensive fish. I, myself, have only just started expanding into buying fish.
Also, sometimes fish are dropped during games of Booty Grab. You need to grab them just like the coins but they can help you get more off your tank. I'm not sure of the second fish but the first you can get is the hermit cat. You could also get an "easter egg" fish during the easter event.
I'd seriously suggest you buying a trading pass, the gold might seem like a lot now but consider it an opportunity to buy shop items cheaper and cash shop items with out cash.

ah yes thank you lola!
i look for what i want in the shops then go check it out on the market place because most of the time things are about half off or cheaper ususally.
also selling on the marketplace can bring you in some serious gold if you can play the marketing game right.

Zong can't sell me cash, so I'm stuck cashless. I'm thinking I'll start with a tank of either hermit cats or cuttlefish. They're so cute!

I'd go with hermit cats. You can get them free as drops from playing booty grab and they trigger more often.

I'm cashless too but I booty grab everyday and with the gold I get from it I buy fish. All my meats have been bought from BG gold. smile
