HONG KONG (Reuters) - Dust clouds generated by a huge dust storm in China's Taklimakan desert in 2007 made more than one full circle around the globe in just 13 days, a Japanese study using a NASA satellite has found.

Very worrisome if you know anything about coal fires and how much toxic stuff they put in to the atmosphere.

Yes but you have to overcome the NIMBY (Not In My Back Yard)attitude. Who cares if it effects someone across the globe? It's not in my back yard....
Too many people have that attitude. You show them this, they probably won't care or find some way to argue it's irrelevance. Sad but true.
It is worrying though. Especially since so many countries in Asia and eastern Europe don't always have as tough environmental regulations as other places. Maybe we should just take all our pollutants and garbage and dump it on these countries, since they don't seem to mind it?
