a question for those who've played both versions, is there any difference/s in the story line between the Sega and PS releases of the games? I ask because my Sega CD has been dead for awhile now crying and I've been debating picking up the PS releases. One thing i've heard, and its 2nd hand info, is that Ghaleon doesnt kill Quark in the PS version but instead captures him. No real impact on the story ;p but even little stuff like that would be interesting to hear.

Although I haven't played both versions, I know that there ARE some storyline changes between them. One is that not a lot about the history of the Four Heroes are given in the PS version...and yes, in the PS version, Ghaleon merely captures Quark and the other dragons and uses their energy to power Taben's Peak (or that machine). But of course, we all know they die later.
That's all I know. Hope it helped some.

i own both the game in each form and theres not to meny things that differ, the most easyist one to see is that Alex and Luna are about 4 years older in the PS one then the Sega CD one, the sorty itself dose not differ to much, but they did chang a handful of things to make the game a little lighter so younger kids could play it

In the Sega CD version: Alex hardly talks. Only lines I remember from him are:
"........" "Luna! I'm back!" "Ghaleon, NO!"
Ghaleon does a one-handed kamehameha to Quark and kills him. Alex had only that Fire spell to use in the Trial Cave for Vane. The Black Dragon was a skeleton when you fought him. The biggest change was that Luna stayed behind in the Sega CD version. Playing the PSone version totally caught me unawares when she tagged along.

Never played the Sega CD version, but from what I've heard, in the PS version:
-Ghaleon doesn't have a transformation. -Luna is a controllable character in your party until Meribia. -Xenobia has some sisters and it isn't implied she is in a relationship with Ghaleon. -Laike is actually revealed t obe Dyne. (Which is ******** retarded. I thought the entire point behind Alex's "rare" green eyes was to imply that he was Dyne's reincarnation. They really copped out big time by not killing Dyne off.)

Well thing I loved about the Sega version was that there was a man in one of the temples of althena, and when you talked to him, he said something to the effect of, "Dont talk to me, dont even look at me! You are not even worthy to look at my boots!" or something like that wink I loved him so much.
