So I was Walmart the other day and I was looking at the books when I stumble upon the cover of a book that has an awesome lookin sword on it.
so I pick it up and it's called, A darkness Forged in Fire: Book One of The Iron Elves By: Chris Evans. and I was going to put it back after reading the back, it seemed interesting but I was going to try and get a gaia cash card. My mind changed when I saw at the very top of the cover a quote that read, "Chris Evans places the boad sword and sorcery achetypes squarely in a new and exciting environment." -R. A. Salvatore
The full quote he gave is on the inside cover, "I'm always thrilled by seeing a new author press the boundaries of the conventions of fantasy. Chris Evans does just that- taking the broad sword and sorcery archetypes and placing them squarely in a new and exciting environment."
I'm not one to doubt Salvatore's word but I would like to know if anyone else has read it and if it is any good.

It certainly sounds intriguing. I haven't read it myself, but I might have to go take a look. I mean, if R.A. Salvatore says it's good, then it probably is.

I'll probably end up reading the book after I finish with The Sellswords and The Hunter's Blade Trilogies.
Getting closer to the end of the second book... slowly...

I just read the first 100 pages. It's interesting, and draws you in pretty well.

And now you're almost finished with it. ^__^
What did you say the title of the second book was again?

It just came out in July. mrgreen

Seriously though, the character in this make sense, you hate the villians, (not sure about the main evil but still) and you like the good guys.

I wonder if they're the types who really cross the Moral Event Horizon.
Sadly, I can't find the book or author on TVTropes to find out.

I will make a mention that A Darkness Forged In Fire gets my seal of approval. Give it about 8 chapters or so, and then it draws you in completely. Don't get me wrong, the first eight aren't bad, but there's not as much action.
Trust me, if Salvatore likes it, you know it's good.
