(AIM log between DFA and Kim)

She had to get away from them. The mortals. Not because she disliked them, but because Cassian’s thoughts were driving her mad. Madder than usual, anyway. Ever since she had made that mistake of trying to fix Cassian’s eyes and ended up permanently damaging his mind she could not help but hear his thoughts, and he hers. She didn’t mind Roko hearing her thoughts, but Cassian shouldn’t be allowed.

The fact that the male was clearly falling in love with the female and not saying anything was also driving her madder still. Why didn’t he just say something to her? Why did he have to hide it all away and drive her mad with his thoughts?

She sighed and flopped down in the dust in the shade of a large tree, taking delight in the respite it offered her. She wondered how long she’d be able to lie there without the male coming after her, demanding for more answers.

Well the truth was, she had none and she wasn’t sure she ever would. She was starting to think that she’d be searching for a cure for him forever…

She whimpered, crossed her paws and set her chin astride them. Life was much more difficult when powers got involved.

Pelli wondered if that was why Roko had avoided them before.

Silos was worried.

He was rarely EVER worried, and thus the state of mind was frustrating him deeply. Not to mention it was making him act horribly strange (at least, stranger than he was used to). Rokopelli had been distant for a while; his mind had told him it had to do with the mortal she was hanging out with so often lately, but in all honesty, he hadn't asked her what she was doing with him.

He knew not what the goddess had done to him in an attempt to help him. He had no way of knowing what went on between mortal and goddess, and needless to say, it was driving him insane. Silos hadn't wanted to intrude (which was also quite strange - usually he wasn't against asking questions, but for some reason he felt Roko needed her privacy). Thus he had no answers. He had no way to help her.

Still, even if he could offer her no help, he decided he wanted to be with her. Hence why he'd landed from the sky and set about searching for her, following her scent. He found her laying on the ground and neared her silently till he was blocking the sun from her, "Are you okay?"

---

She looked up and her face transformed from tired and troubled to one of joy and relief. If Silos was here that meant fun times! Besides that, she always felt more comfortable around her own kind. She was never quite sure what mortals thought of her…except for Cassian who disliked her greatly. Did they think her odd? Did they hate her? Did they revere her? She did not know and not knowing troubled her greatly. Sure, she could maybe pry into their thoughts and find out, but would she want to find out if they hated her?

No.

She leapt to her paws, flared her wings and bounced towards him, buffeting her head somewhat roughly up against his neck and chin. “There you are!” She chirped. “We missed you very much! Too much! This place is soooo boringses when you’re not here, Silos. Where’ve you beeeeen?” Her tail waved, almost dog-like, behind her as she beamed up at him.

---

He was still troubled.

He could not help it. Even despite the way he felt his throat constrict slightly when she jumped up happily at seeing him, even despite the way she smiled up at him... he was still troubled. He couldn't seem to shake it off, and instead moved about in place uncomfortably as he looked down at her when she nuzzled him. Was that a nuzzle? Maybe it was a bit too rough to be called a nuzzled. Uhm....

Dragging his mind out of second gear, he found himself biting his bottom lip nervously, "I was here," he told her, "I was always here; I didn't go away. I just... you seemed busy with the mortal," he paused and moved about in place some more, feeling horribly awkward and yet not knowing why, "You know... the white one. The one you're always hanging out with," he sounded mildly bitter, even to his own ears.

You know, that white one. The one that kinda replaced me.

Another pause, "And you didn't answer my question... are you okay? You didn't look so hot when I got here. You're troubled, and I don't know WHY," he murmured, then he turned his head to look at her fully, "I feel rather useless. And I feel like I'm lossing you and I can't stop it."

---

Her wings and ears dropped. In fact her whole body seemed to droop as if her spine had lost its use and gone slack. Her mis-matched eyes returned to looking troubled again, the joy so easily snatched away. So, he had noticed. She supposed ti was silly to think that he hadn’t noticed. She had been spending a lot of tiem with the mortals and…well…that was unusual in itself.

“Pelli did a bad thing.” It was Roko who spoke, surprisingly, for normally she could not without prompt.

“Shut up, Roko!”

“No. Tell him.”

The Goddess went silent again and then she dipped her head even lower. “We…we tried to fix him. He had bad eyeses. But…”

“But.” Roko prompted.

“But we made things worse. We made him…confused.”
