Between each of the locations in Basil, lies a dark forest which everyone must travel through to get to where they are going.
It used to be a danger when a coven of vamps lived in the shrine which is located in the center of the forest.
But since the coven does not exist anymore, it has become a safer place, though it still carries a sense of foreboding about it.

Brannon, bloodied and wounded, collapsed face down in the dirt. The only thing that would indicate whom he was would be the Grey's Clan Symbol on his sword.

Dasha came through the forest to get to the shrine but saw Brannon on the ground. She ran up to him and looked him over. She saw the Grey Clan symbol on his sword and hissed. "Always popping up you Greys." Dasha whistled and a big man popped out from the trees. "Trent, pick up this Grey and take him to the castle. Mistress will know what to do with him. And don't eat him." Trent picked up Brannon and walked to the castle.

Phantom walked through the forest and after a little while stopped to rest. "Keep reminding me the kids are worth this so I don't turn around and go back. This forest is so thick its hard to walk through them."

"Your a witch aren't you? Burn a path clear for us to walk through." Jonas was getting just as irratated as Phantom about walking through this forest.

"I may be a witch but I know what is out of my limits. I could do it, but with Sasha everything is off and I can't." Phantom stopped dead and growled. "Alright, how about this. We stop for an hour, rest and then start heading to the castle again."

"Fine with me." Jonas wound through the terrain a bit until he found a clear enough spot for them to stop, and rest.

Phantom sat down on the ground and sighed. "So, what is the plan if we do do something? We can't go in there just willy nilly and say that we want our kids back and that we will fight for them. Mom will act if we come anywhere near those two if she is trying to turn them."

She shook her head. "it was only to allow Eddy and me in, because we have the most of our mother's DNA. Not surprised Ana didn't get in." She got up and looked at Jonas. "Lets go, have to get there some time.

"Depends, did we already pass the shrine? If we hadn't then we still have quite a ways to go. The shrine is half way, though a path opens up there, if we come across it."
