a man's boat capsizes in the middle of a lake. A fishing boat drives by and the driver says "I'll help you! Get on!" The man replied, "No, I believe God will save me." So the boat rode away. Two more boats came by with the same result. The man drowned. When the man got to heaven he asked God, "Why didn't you save me? I prayed and believed you would!" God said, "Dude! I sent you three boats!"
I thought that would be a good way to start this thread off. Anyone hear about the guy whose daughter was severely diabetic but he just kept her home and prayed and said taking her to the hospital was against God's will.
I thought God put doctors on this earth so we could get help for our illnesses! One of this guy's arguments was "Jesus didn't go to the doctor." How do you know? Got put doctors on this earth so we could cure our sicknesses. Not to have a young girl's life cut short. The daughter was only 11.
Anyone else has an opinion on it?

It's a dumb notion. Someone refuses to go to the doctor because its 'against God's will?' What a load of rubbish. During Jesus' time people were treated for illnesses and diseases by people as well, Jesus never said that we shouldn't be treated by others. In fact he encouraged us to help each other out, it always surprises me how little of the bible or Jesus' teaching that religious people actually know or follow. Not that I'm saying the little girl or anyone in her position deserves to die, but it is partially because of their own ideas that they died. although what did her parents do? Obviously not enough to get her to a doctor, they could have swayed or even made her take the medical treatment, so they hold responsibility as well. I may sound a bit harsh but i guess that comes with being obnoxious xp

I think that dude was extreme, but I feel I can understand his concerns.
I have moments when I really want to be in the shoes of a person with a simpler life.
Sometimes I eat kosher food just because it's so much healthier, and I feel like if extremists weren't in the world, everyone would just accept things the way they are without trying to improve things.
Her death hopefully woke a few people up.
