This secret chamber is located underneath the Division 9 compound. Its entrance is known only to the Captains of the Gotei 13 and is only used under special ocassion for training.
The Chamber of Wilting Flowers is sometimes referred to as "The Chamber of Spirits" because it is used solely by those members of Squad 9 who believe they are ready to attempt the dangerous task of achieving Bankai.
The chamber is an artificial grassy field with buttercups in bloom at all times of the year. The ceiling gives off artificial light that simulates the twilight of dusk the brilliant hues of orange, red, yellow and fading blue give the Chamber an elegant glow that sets the tone for what could be the destruction of a Shinigami or the rebirth.
Very few ever get the oppurtunity to enter and train in this special chamber since the entrance is not only a guarded secret but only the Captain of Squad 9 knows the secret to opening this special place.
Though there is one warning that is uttered before one enters the threshold of this chamber. "Oblivion awaits those who can not stop and smell the buttercups..."

Yatsufusa walked down the spiralling staircase with Kenji trailing behind him. It took a couple of minutes as they walked down the dark stairs. The only comfort of seeing where they were going was the artificial kido light that Yasufusa had produced.
He then stopped at set of large iron doors. On it was the symbol fo squad 9 the buttercup. Yatsufusa raised his hand over the door feeling the details of the door. He then turned out the light of his kido so as to free both hands. He then reached into his sleeves and pulled out the black and white petals. He scattered them over the door with one has as he pointed with the other. "HadÅ 4: Byakurai (Pale Lightning)" His index began letting of sparks as he charged the kido. He then place his finger in the center of the door where there was divide and let loose the art.
The door began to illuminate bright whtie as the energy release flowed through the door followed by a series of clicking noises and then Yatsufusa stepped back allowing the doors to swing open and also allowing the light of twilight to radiate.
He took a couple of steps into the field of buttercusp before turing to Kenji before he crossed the threshold and uttered. "Oblivion awaits those who can not stop and smell the buttercups..."

Kenji follows Yatsufusa-San down the dark stairway until they reach the big double doors. Standing back and watching, Yatsufusa-San opened the doors and stepped into the room. Kenji listened to his Captain and then bowed showing his respect for this great place of honor. He then took a few steps foward and was inside and among the buttercups. He could feel a special kind of Reiatsu flowing in this room and shortly within his own body. Turning to Yatsufusa-San, Kenji says "I am ready sir. Lead the way ...."

Yatsufusa walked toward the center of the room after acknowledging Kenji. He Then turned around to watch Kenji. "This my dear young lieutenant is the Chamber of Wilting Flower. As you may already notice this place exudes a unique rieatsu, and it is that rieatsu that will enable you to acomplish the task of manifesting your Zanpakuto. There are two ways to do this. There is the right way and the fast way."
Yatsufusa then squated down and grabbed a strange disk and rose to his feet. "The right way is to learn to draw your spirit out and will them to manifest. The fast way is to insert your Zanpakuto into this," he raised the disk, "though the results are almost the same using he quick way you will miss out on what can be vital training of learning not only to manifest the spirit of your Zanpakuto but to learn of one's inner self. The choice is entirely but to you."
With his free hand he drew from his left sleeve his Zanpakuto. The one with the white handle and the black blade. He flipped the grip in his hands and "This is my Zanpakuto Kobankata Renge." He then flipped the grip and pointed the point at Kenji, "Transcend the Heavens, Hikarikageyaku Renge." After utter the release command the short blade of his wakizashi type Zanpakuto melted away leaving only the handle and the guard. Then the guard began to glow as particle from the surrounding begna to form the blade. The length of the blade stopped around 24.5 inches. The blade was made of light and glowing dimly with the light of the twilight. He then tossed it into the ground.
Yatsufusa then placed the disk to the right of the dim blade. He then reached into his right sleeve and drew another blade. The pitch dark handle had a rather bright, white, blade. "This is my Zanpakuto. Kobankata Renge" He then pointed the blade at Kenji. "Transverse the heavens, Kikkyou Renge," The blade melted away leaving behind the guard. Then the guard grew dark as the blade began to form. Pitch black with a faint glow the blade grew to 24.5 inches. He then placed it to so that the disk would be in the center of the two blades.
"This is the true nature of my Zanpakuto. Very few people know of my second Zanpakuto. And most who have seen it have long since perished. My Zanpakuto is a representation of duality. The contrast of my soul. Seperate from one another yet melding together to create a single whole." He the shut his eyes and placed his hands up either of his sleeves and quickly took them out spreading black and white petals over the two blades. "Come forth Kikkyou. Hikarikageyaku."
There was a sudden serge of Reiatsu as the two blades began emitting a powerful aura. The aura became so strong that they were engulfed by grey light and for a moment where the two blades stood was an all encompassing grey light then it erupted. From the grey mass came two young boys.
The first boy was blonde and wore read and white with a gold guard on his left arm with a small gold wing on his right shoulder with a gold hair piece on the right side of his head. The boy looked no older than 12. The other wore a similar outfit the only differenece was he wore black and blue with a black guard on the right and a wing on the left with a black hairpiece on the left side of his head.
Yatsufusa pointed at the two boys first to the one on his right in white, "this is Hikarikageyaku Renge," he then pointed to his right, "this is Kikkyou Renge." He then smiled at Kenji as the two boys looked him over.

Kenji was in shock and he felt truely honored to be able to see his Captain's true powers. Not to mention beinging in the same room with his
Zanpakuto's and their spirits.
Kenji says, "Sir, I'm not sure what you are asking of me. You see, I have met and become one with my Zanpakuto and it's spirit already. I have earned my Shikai already thus, I am one with my Zanpakuto. If I need to bring out the spirit of my Zanpakuto, then I can do that for you as well."
Kenji looks around with a worried look on his face. He seems kind of lost and doesn't know what his Captain wants from him .....

The spirit in black, Kikkyou, flew over to hover above Kenji's head. He eyed him strangely before shaking his head, "Nah. He's not worth our time Fusa-kun."
The spirit in white, Hikarikageyaku, puffed out his cheeks, "your judgement is off Yasu-chan. You've spent too much time waisting away like your flower." He crossed his arms and turned the other cheek.
Yatsufusa shook his head, "Ignore them Kenji. Its rather simple. Some of the other captains say that the power of your bankai is achieved by beating your spirit into submission." He looked over to Kikkyou and then to Hikarikageyaku, "but that is a fools path for power." He shot a glare at Kikkyou who hovered over Kenji and sighed as he began to return to Yatsufusa's side. "Learning the name of one's Zanpakuto creates shikai. Manifesting them into our plane is half of bankai. The other half of bankai is proving your worth to your Spirit. To show the intuition to be able to not only see its true form among the potential masses but grasp on to it all while under a stressing enviorment." He then pointed down to the disk. "This is a cheap tool used by those who wish to go achieve power by skipping steps. What it is that I want you to do is convince the twins here you are worthy of bankai. Only if your will is able to enthrall them will I teach you the art of achieving a perfectly formed bankai."
Yatsufusa crossed his arms and looked over to the twins. It was unclear what direction this task would take Kenji. Yatsufusa's methods were indeed strange but not beyond the conjecture of most. Yatsufusa was a wise man dispite his strange actions and outward appearance. He then reached out and threw his arms over his spirits and with large grin he said, "begin."

Kenji looks at the two spirits and smiles then says, "Well this should be fun. So, are we going to do this the hard way or the easy way?" Kenji turns to Hikarikageyaku, the spirit in white and says "You look like a reasonable little fellow. I can asure you that if you intrust me with my Bankai that I will only use it as a last resort. I am not power hungry and I know that my charm and intelligence can take me a long way .... more so than my blade." Kenji then turned toward the black spirit Kikkyou and his facial expression changed to that of a stone cold killer before saying, "I don't think that I could even begin to express myself to you in words. I think my actions will prove to you that I am worthy of Bankai."
Kenji draws his Zanpakutou and says, "Naorimasu Kimasu ..... Healer Come Forth!" the blade begins to glow a soft green in color and Kenji takes up a fighting stance ....

Kikkyou shook his head at Kenji's display and yawned the idea of combat did not interest him. He then looked over at Hikarikageyaku and stuck his pinky in his ear, "he's not worth my time. You handle him Hikarikageyaku." He then pulled his pinky out his ear and examined it.
Hikarikageyaku puffed out his cheeks, "Do I have to use my power Yasu-chan? Can I use your?"
Yastufusa shook his head as he took a couple steps back, "No you can't. This is neither the time or place for that. Use Kikkyou Renge." Yatsufusa said pushing Kikkyou closer to
Hikarikageyaku.
Kikkyou sighed heavily, "fine" he said before turning into a black light and flying into Hikarikageyaku's hand. When he reapeared he was in Shikai form with only a handle and guard in Hikarikageyaku's hand.
Hikarikageyaku pointed the bladeless handle at Kenji, "your need to relax! how do you expect to react all tense like that?"
Yatsufusa shook his head deciding not to interfer with Kobankata Renge's fun and games despite how odd it promised to become.

Kenji says, "Well .... I'm waiting? Are we going to fight this out or do you have something else in mind? Kenji had no clue what was going on. He thought he was going to earn his Bankai but instead it looks like he will be fighting one of his Captains spirit's.
Kenji was never good with puzzles like this. He was always a black and white type of guy.

Yatsufusa kept a straight face as he watched the two stare each other down. He was disappointed a little in Kenji's actions. He had began believing that Kenji had started to understand Yatsufusa odd wisedom.
He looked over to his Zanpakuto spirit Hikarikageyaku, "Now teach him the light that must be seen in the darkness. Show him the truth of his soul."
Hikarikageyaku not as he flew up into the sky placing his back to the sun his shadowed casted larger than life for such a small thing to cast such a large and dark shadow. He then pulled the hilt back an thrusted it foward while not moving from his spot in the sky. From within his shadow a katana blade formed in the shadow thrusting. Hikarikageyaku was warming up his skill. All the while Yatsufusa gazed at his Zanpakuto and then down at his student. A young man who may one day take over for Yatsufusa

Kenji wasted no time, he Shunpoed (flashstep) to within a foot of the spirit and with a battle cry jumped into action. Swinging his Zanpakuto, Kenji goes in for the kill.....
