 The office is rather simple in decoration.
There scattered flowers around the room
and beside either side of a window stood two
large bookselves.
The door was parallel to a desk with papperwork
stacked up and on the other wall was a sofa.
Yatsufusa could be commonly found on that sofa.

Kenji walks up to the building looking at the area around it. He could tell that the squad area was well kept by the look of the lawn and how clean everything seems to be. Walking up the stairs to the sliding door he dropped his bag of belongings and took off his straw sandals. Sliding the door open Kenji enters the building and looks to the desk off to the left of the door. It was the Captains security detail. This desk is always manned with a guard during the day and two at night for the protection of the Captain. Each squad has one and 9th squad was no different. Kenji walks up to the desk and says, “Hello, my name is Kenji-Kenso and I am to report in for duty. Is the captain available?” The guard looks at Kenji and says, “The Captains office is just down the hall. He is waiting for you Kenji-San.” Kenji bows to the guard and heads down the hall to the wooden sliding doors. Kenji fixes his uniform and then knocks waiting for a reply ….

Yatsufusa was laying on his nice and comfy sofa hands crossed over his chest and his haori thrown over him like a comforter. He was gazing at a vase of wilting flowers. His eyes trailed as a single petal fell at a time. He sat up when he suddenly heard a knock on the door.
Yatsufusa looked over as he sat up only to throw his haori over his shoulders sliding his hands in his sleeve as he walked over to his desk and sat atop it. “Please come in,” he said in his usual soft tone. He awaited to see meet his guest and beside sat a mountain of paperwork he had neglected to do for the day.

Kenji slid open the door and stepped in. He then turned around and closed the door behind himself. Taking a few steps forward, Kenji stopped and bowed to his new Captain saying, "Sir, Kenji-Kenso ... your new Lieutenant, reporting as ordered sir. It is with great honor that I am able to serve you Yatsufusa-San. What are your orders for me?"

Yatsufusa looked at his new lieutenant and sighed as he shook his head and shut his eye, "ohhh," he said between breaths, "I had forgot your were arriving today..." the corner of his mouth curled to one side, "Now where did I put that file..." he mumbled as he reached towards the stack of papers with his right. Nimbly his hand went down the stack as he scanned for something that felt different form the paper work. His finger came to a folder and in one swift movement he pulled the folder out without barely shifting the stack.
Yatsufusa opened it in front of him and looked at the picture inside and then at Kenji. The pictures didn't match so he set it atop the pile and again his fingers began to work down the stack to the next folder, "sorry, sorry, lets see..." He pulled out another folder just like the first. He looked at the picture than up at Kenji, this time it was a match. He then began to look into the details in the profile on Kenji. His eyes went wide. "I remember reading this one!"
He pointed the folder at Kenji, "your that baby from the academy." He stroked his chin with his sleeved hand, "a prodigy if I remember correctly." Yatsufusa smiled playfully. "Kenji-kun." He stated. "I hope that you enjoy your time spend here in Division 9: Internal Affairs!" He then set the file on top of the stack and returned his hands into his sleeves infront of him.

Kenji laughed and said, "Prodigy ... far from it sir. But I am sure that I will enjoy my time in 9th Division. As you can see from my file, I am well trained in the healing arts. I was trained in the academy to be assigned to the 4th Division but a change came down from headquarters and here I am. I look forward to serving you Yatsufusa-San and I hope that I can learn from you and one day become as great as you are. Now, maybe one of your guards can direct me to my office and sleeping quarters so I can get set up. I have a feeling that I have alot of work waiting for me." Kenji looks at the stack of paperwork on the Captains desk and shakes his head.

Yatsufusa nodded as he watched Kenji. "Nonsense Kenji-kun. You won't be doing that much." He motioned his face towards the mountain of paperwork, "I'll handle those... eventually." He hopped off his desk and began to walk towards the sofa off to the side of the room. He reached for his left shoulder and grasped his haori and pulled it off and held it in front of him. "I'll show you to your office and quarters personally." He then folded his haori and rested it atop the sofa and then looked over to Kenji, "It's easier for me to do my job if I don't stick out like a sore thumb. So from time-to-time I'll go out with out my haori so I can blend in with the other squad." He scratched his neck, "most Shinigami under seat 3 have never seen many of the Captains' faces." He smiled, "I try hard not to be seen."
Yatsufusa walked next to Kenji and rested him and atop his head and ruffled his hair. Though Yatsufusa was not that much taller than Kenji, "but I'm afraid a am not the best Captain to be looking up to. Among the current captains it took me the longest ot achieve my position." He opened the sliding door and motion Kenji through.

Kenji looked at his new Captain and said while walking through the door, "Work doesn't bother me Yatsufusa-San but what puzzles me is why you would want to go out and have no one know you are the Captain of this squad. In my opinion it is truely an honor to be a Captain and I would want everyone to know that I was one. Besides, it doesn't matter how long it took you to make the rank of Captain. What matters is that you ARE the Captain. Anyway, I will respect your wishes either way sir."
Kenji follows Yatsufusa-San out of the room ...

Yatsufusa arrived at his office with a sigh and and a smile. He gazed around the room to be put at ease by large array of colors. His office not too long ago was alive with fragrance of fresh cut flowers and now they have begun to wither and it was at this point that Yatsufusa found the greatest beauty. To watch as the once soft to the touch petals become fragile like tiny shell falling from a vine.
He walked around the room allowing the tips of his finger to gently brush against the withering blooms the gentle sensation of his finger tips was enough to cause the petals of some to fall.
He seemed to hold special interest in the blooms sitting on the small table beside the sofa. He gazed at the wilting buttercups that sad in front of his haori. He the picked up one and positioned it in front of the light he smiled.
"Maybe I should have a chat with those kids..." he said to himself as he watched the shadow of the buttercup in the light.

Yatsufusa walked behind his desk and open a draw in the lower right hand corner. Slowly he pulled it open before reaching for the contents. He first pulled out a jar that were filled with white petals and then another filled with black. He closed the draw with his foot as he picked up both jars and moved towards the sofa.
Yatsufusa laid himself down with both jars beside him on the table. With is right hand he ran his fingers through his long hair - removing strands from his face as his other hand reached into the jar of white petal and he threw them in the air before him. He then reached for the black and did the same.
His atop his body laid many petal both black and white as he folded his fingers in front of him an shut his eyes. He began to do some rather strange breathing exercises and not before long he was in a trance state. His breathing controled but is body utterly dettached from his mind.
When Yatsufusa opened his eyes he was in a dark place. There was no light all that could be seen was the void of his mind. He began to walk and with every step he took it rippled with light as if breaking the surface of water.
Then the work began to light up it was blinding at first but it just grew dimmer and dimmer till the world was nothing more then a hue of grey. He looked into the sky which had the sun is west and the moon in the east. He looked down and he was walking on water his reflection was inverted color, but the truth of this world was simple.
Yatsufusa was neither up or down he simply walking the plane of his existance and it wasn't too long before his tranquil trek was disturbed by the sound of a young boy, a white and gold blur zoomed past Yatsufusa. He sighed as he raised his hand to his face.
"How ya doing Yatsu-chan!" the blur exclaimed excited to see him.
"I'm well Hikarikageyaku Renge." Yatsufusa replied, "where is your brother Kikkyou Renge?" He said looking around for that familiar black blur.
The face of the white blurr began to come into focus. The blonde haired boy with soft features puffed out his cheeks at Yatsufusa, "Kikkyou angry at you." He replied.
Yatsufusa shook his head, "and why would that be?"
Hikarikageyaku turned his head in a huff, "cause your a mean to him. Hiding him from the world."
Yatsufusa reached out and ruffled Hikarikageyaku's hair, "I don't hide him from the world because I do not care for him. I hide him from the world because I want him for myself." Yatsufusa smile was warm like the bathing in sunlight, "I came to check up on you both but I guess Kikkyou Renge is a little shy today."
Hikarikageyaku puffed out his cheeks, "your mean. You like Kikkyou more don't you?"
Yatsufusa smiled as he ruffled Hikarikageyaku's hair, "Maybe, or maybe I care so much that I'm afraid to lose you both."
Before Hikarikageyaku could reply he broke his trance and his eyes truly opened. He was back in his office surrounded by the wilting flowers he seemed to love so dearly and he sighed and smiled. This was the world best suited for an individual such as himself. He threw is left arm over his face and tears came down the side of his face.

Yatsufusa toss and turned on his usually comfy sofa. For some reason he just wasn't feeling it like he normal did. He scratched his face as he lay on it staring at the ceiling. He sat up and stretched a little before looking around him him. It was the same room that he has been occupying since he was promoted to the rank of captain.
Yatsufusa sighed as he stood up and adjusted his uniform. He then looked down at his haori which seem a little lonely as of late. He reached down and picked it up off the table and held it open infront of him. His long baggy sleeves made it difficult to feel the fabric of the haori as the sleeves kept trying to over come him. He looked at it for a moment before slipping his arm through and again he dawned the symbol of status in the Soul Society. He had taken the moment to think and had decided to go and pay Kenji-kun a visit.
He open the door and with a smile he began to short trek down the ways to where he hopefully would encounter Kenji-kun at work or play.

Shortly after dispatching Kenji on his errand Yatsufusa had returned to the solitude of his office. The smell of flowers mingled with the sight of wilting blooms which only made Yatsufusa feel at home. He was a strange man without a doubt and he simply threw himself on his sofa and watched the wilting flowers on the table as he awaited for Kenji to return from his trip to squad 13.

Kenji stepped out of his shunpo in front of the headquarters building to 9th Division. Shaking his head as he walks, Kenji enters the building and lets the guards know that he is back from his mission and available if needed. Kenji then walked down the hall and knocked on the Captain's door. He then opened the door and stepped into the office. Seeing the Captain on the sofa he couldn't help but smile. "Sir, your message has been delivered. But I must say, that Captain is very strange. none the less, the mission is complete. What are your orders for me sir?"

As Kenji opened the door Yatsufusa's gazed trailed away from the wilting blooms to Kenji not at his door. He nodded as Kenji confirmed the delivery of his letter to Squad 13's captain. Slowly he sat up the same dual expression on his face. His smile said one thing his eyes another. "No, that will be all Kenji-kun, but is there anything you wish to ask me?" he said as he rose from the sofa and dusted himself off before having his gaze meet Kenji's.

Kenji looked at Yatsufusa-San and says, "There is something sir .... Bankai. I feel that I am ready for it and it would be an honor if you would help me achive it sir. I think I will better be able to serve the squad if I had it." Kenji looked around the office again and saw the wilting flower that his Captain was looking at. It made him feel kind of sad that something so beautiful has to wilt and die.
