The biggest show on Saturn will take place on August 11 09 when it experiences its equinox. The shadows subsequently cast on its rings may contain the information necessary to unravel the entire mystery of the rings' structure.
This August the rings of the giant planet Saturn will be plunged into shadow as the 26.7-degree tilt of the planet brings it level with the plane of the solar system. The sun will be directly above Saturn's equator illuminating only the ten-meter thick edge of the rings. An event that only happens every 15years. we are just weeks away form finding exciting new information, and probably a few new moons.
