Hello everyone,
I just wanted to post and discuss a new trend of glowing threads. In the past I would often get a PM informing me that my aquarium is glowing, however a lot of the times I would be either afk or playing zOMG so by the time I read the consideration persons PM I already missed out sad
So now there is this new trend of reusable glowing notification threads, Please view my signature. I added a simple paragraph of text with a link to my dedicated glowing thread, so rather then making a new one each time and wasting time this would save me time and perhaps a user would be kind enough just to bump the thread once before playing the aquarium.
Have you used a reusable glowing notification thread before, is it better then a brand new one?

I have been using a re-useable/recycled "glowing" thread. But usually, I would be the only one bumping the thread. It saves a lot more time than having to make a new "glowing" thread especially if you don't keep an eye on your gold.
It's good to know that there are a lot of Gaians who are kind enough to bump the thread (assuming you give them a link to it on your signature). This method is a lot more better than having others PM you telling that you're glowing. Only reason why you would ask others to PM you is for your own records of knowing how often your tank glows. 3nodding

I haven't made one myself... but I have bumped others... and I agree that it does save SO MUCH time rather than sending a PM or comment

I have noticed this trend... I spend a lot of time looking through the "glowing" threads but with the re-usable threads I am either never catching them right or the people bumping are just being dumb, cause whenever I open one 9/10 times its not glowing. So I'm not sure it's really effective.
Maybe both are called for?

I sure will save a lot of time for us but I was also thinking it would save a lot of effort for Gaia mods on cleaning up the forums since the threads would be reused no need to bin/delete them. Ramen-Chan I have noticed this trend... I sure hope this does not happen as it would only annoy the aquarium forum users.

I have to say, after trying it out... it really does save a lot of time, which is good. However I have also noticed I don't get as much response from the Aquarium Chaos.
Any thoughts on how to get it most noticed or do I bother?

I've made re-usable glowing threads for my aquariums, and it does seem to help. This tank is doing well, but my new mule (Justin Passing) is struggling to break even. There doesn't seem to be any way to keep enough people playing a tank without spending a lot of time posting every day. sad
Not that I mind posting - actually I like it. It's just that I don't always have time to do so.

I just recently made one from a previously 'random tank posting' sort. I doubt my tank is up to par, but gold is gold.
It is better than making a new one everytime I think.

Why would they get bumped inappropriately more than the non reusable threads? That's just illogical!
I've found already that people are using mine and it really helps! And it's FAR less annoying to anyone who has friended you and is tired fo getting spammed by dozens of new threads.
I was just sad that it didn't catch on when I first tried it, it took another month or so for it to catch.
