Seitaru'kai was puzzled. It had been some months since she'd last come by to visit her old friend in the swamps, Mama Bwawa, but now that she had...she couldn't seem to find her. It was altogether very odd - the earthy goddess should have felt her cross the border into her territory as she felt everyone who did, and come to see who it was. She'd waited for a little over an hour now, but her fellow deity had not come.

Curious, Sei had cloaked herself in invisibility and ventured further into the swamp, which was something she didn't really like to do. Getting damp, mucky, and swampy was all well and good for Bwawa, but for her? Justice really didn't like to be dirty, if she could help it. But after another hour of poking around - and getting hopelessly dirty - she still could find no sign of Mama Bwawa. Perhaps she wasn't here today? She supposed it was a possiblity, but she knew the other goddess usually liked to stay close to her pride.

Shrugging it off for now, Justice headed for the river that marked the far edge of the spirit-talkers' territory to indulge in a quick bath.

Paws settled lightly on the earth, wings folding with a whisper. Eyes narrowed, searching the land, gaze shifting between trees, the ground, the plants, ears twitching to catch the sound of the animals who inhabited the land. He did not know why, but something felt different here, a change in the land.

A bad change? No, that he could not tell, could not know, but he did not feel the land was in danger. And yet, he was certain something hand change.

Hmmmm...

He appeared contemplative, one might have expected his chin to rest on his paw with his thoughts, that is if he weren't forced to suddenly duck to avoid colliding with a tree branch. Corellon was a tall creature, perhaps seeming even taller due to his antlers. However, such height often proved a disadvantage among the lower lying branches.

At the sound of someone passing nearby, Seitaru'kai perked up. For all that she knew it was probably just a member of Mama's pride, she couldn't help but hope that it was Mama herself. But as she ducked through the trees towards the sound, she saw that it wasn't another goddess at all - it was a god! And not one she was at all familiar with, whether personally or by description. It was certainly not the Swamp Goddess' father, who she knew to be blue.

This god was pale underneath the pelt he wore, and antlered rather than horned. Curious and somewhat suspicious, she dropped her invisibility to show herself.

"Hello." The greeting was neutral, neither friendly nor hostile.

An ear twitched, turning to catch the sound of a voice, his paw falling still to the ground rather than to the tree he had been about to touch. His head turned, gaze falling on the one who had spoken.

Hmm, she was certainly not the goddess of the swamplands, the one he had met some time ago. A creature like her, he could not have forgotten. No, she was different, a goddess, but not of the swamps. Was she the reason for the change he felt?

"Hello."

Turning from his previous path, he stepped toward the goddess, watching her as he approached. He was far from threatening, a kind and wise creature, yet there was a fire that burned beneath, hidden, a dark wrath reserved for those who dared to harm his forest.

A warm smile.

"Do you know what has transpired in these lands?"

Maybe she knew what had caused the change.

Not a trespasser, then, but a visitor such as herself. She didn't recall anyone of such a description from prior conversations with Mama, but it had been quite some time since she'd last stopped by. He seemed a very...natural sort, at first glance. Someone Swamps probably got along with.

"Transpired?" Her ears flicked forward, and her eyes narrowed a little beneath her blindfold. What might he mean? "Nothing, that I am aware of. Has something?"

Just because Mama wasn't here today didn't mean something had happened...right?

She didn't know, it seemed he would have to ask the trees and hope they had seen.

"I do not know, perhaps nothing has happened. I only feel that something is different, a change since I last visited."

His tail flicked thoughtfully with his steps, pausing when he reached a close enough distance to the goddess, taking care to duck beneath the branch in his path.

"Yet I do not feel the land was harmed. Maybe whatever has changed was simply the natural order of this land."

This land, as all others, experienced it's own cycle, life and death, health and decay, growth and recession. The things, those that followed the path chosen by nature itself, those he did not interfere with, for they were how life was meant to be.

"Do you know of the goddess of this land?"

If anyone would know what had changed, it would be her.

Definitely some sort of earth-based god, from the way he spoke. He was in tune with the land, somehow, though it was not his. Interesting. Sei didn't have any such...senses, so only obvious changes in the environment caught her attention. To her, the swamp looked, smelled, and felt as swamp-like as ever.

"I do," she answered with a nod of her head. "She has long been a friend of mine. She doesn't seem to be here today, however."

Not there? That seemed unusual, though he had to admit he was not aware of the goddess of the swamps' habits having only met her once. He would have to ask the trees then, of course there was no guarantee they would know. Perhaps he was worrying too much, the goddess surely would not have allowed the land she cherished so much to be harmed.

"I see."

Oh where were his manners. It was only at that moment that he realized he had not truly greeted the goddess before him, nor had he given his name. Here they were talking and neither of them knew the other's name. How silly of him.

"Forgive me. I am Corellon, god of nature."

As he spoke, his head lowered in a bow, a gesture of greeting and respect. Silently he wondered if he had ever met this goddess before (though he did not recall doing so) and if they shared anything in common.

Ah, Nature! Not just a natural domain, but Nature itself. Yes, his words made sense now, as did the friendship she assumed he must have with Mama Bwawa. On the surface, it certainly more sense than Swamps and, say, Justice. But domains weren't everything, when it came to getting along or not. She could hardly even stand her own twin brother.

"I am Seitaru'kai," she supplied in kind, dipping her head in a gesture similar to his, "Goddess of Justice. I will admit, I wasn't expecting to meet another deity here - excepting Mama, of course."

"That is something we have in common then. Though I cannot say I object."

A warm smile, the god settled to sit on his haunches.

"Maybe I we can find her, the trees should know where she is."

It may have seemed a strange thing to speak to trees, how easy it was for so many to forget the trees, forget the land itself was alive. But all life had its own soul, its consciousness, and every being had a voice, one only need know how to listen.

A paw raised to gently rest against the trunk of the closest tree, his own eyes closing as he saw through the 'eyes' of the tree. The god saw the land this way, vision moving from tree to tree, crossing as roots and branches touched. Such a beautiful land, strong, untarnished, whatever had changed, no harm had come to this land. The god gave sigh of relief.

Yet, he could find no sigh of the goddess, the trees did not know where she was. Wait, a lioness, she bore a striking resemblance to the goddess, a child of hers perhaps? The trees knew nothing more, only of the natural progression of life and death within the lands.

"She is not here, the trees do not see her. I suppose we will have to see her another day then."

"Nor can I," Seitaru'kai agreed, smiling at last. She was glad that her momentary suspicions, her initial wariness, seemed now to have been unfounded. The company of her own kind was something she had not had in some time, busy with mortal concerns and mortal children - and, more recently, grandchildren.

The trees should know? A curious ability, but not surprising in the god before her. Mama was definitely not here today, then, but apparently nothing was actually amiss, or so she assumed. "She must have gone to visit another swamp, then. But no matter. It seems we have each other for company instead."

He could still feel it, something had changed, something the trees did not know. Perhaps that lioness, hmmm. Yet despite the change, the land was unharmed, as strong and healthy has it had been before. Satisfied, he whispered a silent thanks to the trees before pushing the matter from his mind, his attention turned to Seitaru'kai.

"It would seem so."

A smile as his paw returned to the ground before him. He certainly could not object to the company of another, especially not one such as this goddess. She was beautiful, kind, a gentle soul? Though something told him she was not a goddess who's wrath one would ever want to face. In that, they would have shared something in common, for all the love and care he showed the forest, those who dared to harm it would meet the fury of it's protector.

Justice and Nature, it seemed a fitting friendship.
