Just add "po" to show respect
Important if you don't speak tagalog =):
Hindi po ako nagsasalita ng Tagalog = I don't speak Tagalog

BASIC GREETINGS/GOODBYES:
Kumustá = Hello or How are you? (casual)
Kumustá pô = Hello or How are you? (respectful)
Mabuti = I'm fine (casual)
Mabuti pô = I'm fine (respectful)
Magandang umaga = Good morning
Magandang gabi = Good night (NOT what you say before sleeping)
Magandang tanghali = Good evening
Magandang hapon = Good afternoon
~
Paalam = Goodbye
Paalam na po = Goodbye (respectful)
Aalis na ako = I'm leaving now

THANK YOU, SORRY
Salamat = Thank you
Maraming salamat = Thank you very much
Patawad = Sorry
Patawarin niyo po ako = Forgive me (respectful)
Paumanhin = Sorry or Excuse me



EXPRESSIONS FOR SAYING YES OR NO:
Oo = Yes (to friends or younger people)
Opo = Yes (respectful)
Hindi = No (to friends or younger people)
Hindi po= No (respectful)
*Hindi translates to "no" or "not"
Ewan ko = I don't know (to friends or younger people)
Ewan ko po = I don't know (respectful)

I LOVE YOU, I MISS YOU
Mahal kita = I love you
Mahal na mahal kita = I love you very much
Miss kita = I miss you
Miss na miss kita = I miss you very much
Gusto kita = I like you

QUESTIONS:
what? = ano?
where? = saan?
who? = sino?
when? = kailan?
why? = bakit?
how? = paano?
how much/many? = ilan? or magkano?
where do you live? = saan ka nakatira?
what is your name? = ano ang pangalan mo?
