I am a little curious about this. I want to know how the people here found an interest in MH. Just put a simple reason why and how long have you been playing?

My friend had bought MHF back in 8th grade. I always tried to get into it, but it was an on and off thing for a couple months, due to the multiple Kut Kut failures. I eventually beat him, and I knew I'd love the game. I bought myself a new PSP, specifically for MH, and have not regretted it since. 3nodding

I have known about MH for a long time now and a couple times almost bought one of the console versions. I read reviews and though those people said "Boring its a grinding game. All you do is fight fight make armor and fight the same monsters again." Those people were wrong!!!
I got a new PSP awhile ago. I got many different games and none interested me. I saw an advertisement in a mag for the game and when I saw it in the store I said, why not and it has not left my PSP since it came out.
God it is a great game!!!

I've been playing MH since the PS2 version, now I'm on MHFU(MH2ndG) and hoping they add the Infrastructure mode they were talking about~ I must say I do miss the console version and wish they hadn't canceled the MH for the PS3, because that would have been utterly AMAZING
I didn't notice you had made this into a MH guild Z, or I would have posted here sooner.

It was a recent and unnannounced change. Now MH3 excites me because it comes out for Wii. Whether it comes out in US is still to be known but either way it is something to look forward to.

I'm pretty excited about that actually, even though I don't own a wii I was shocked when I heard you have to complete quests to earn the ability to make weapon types such as long swords and the slash axe

When? I was about 13 or 14 I think when I purchased the first game of the series. From then on I have become addicted to the series.
Why? Basically it offered what I like in a game:Skill, customization, and the fetish to slay dinosaur/dragon-like creatures. The armor and the weaponry was very well done too.

I was in high school when the ps2 MH was released. I don't know why I never bothered to try it out. I guess I didn't do my research and also I couldn't find any copies at the time. jajaja But I really got into the series with Freedom 2. My girlfriend got it for her PSP. I watched her play and I was hooked. So the next day we went, got myself a copy, and we've both been playing religiously since. I'd say she's more into the series than I am. Jaja my number one is Street Fighter but MH is a close 2nd biggrin But I say with how much I play both games they're pretty much tied.
I'm really excited for MH3 when it comes out this winter in the states. biggrin

My best friend got hooked to monster hunter by one of my other friends and when Monster Hunter Freedom 2 came out he let me borrow his PSP and Monster Hunter Freedom for a while to get the hang of it for when I got my PSP and Monster Hunter Freedom 2. When I got my PSP, MHF2 was my first game to play and get hooked. I got into it because it thought the battle style was very cool and I have a high interest in dinosaurs, and killing dinosaur-dragon like monsters sounded really cool. Now we have 3 hunter quests every chance we get.

Peer Pressure! Bored at school and everybody was like "You should play Monster Hunter with us" Sure I thought to myself and look at me now I'm addicted! I started from MHF2 but I had MHF (even though I sucked at it ><).
