Christophe and Nolah (moved from the tavern thread)
Finally content and happy that she had a few hours to herself, she walked close to Christophe so that she rest her cheek against his arm. "Thanks Christophe." She said softly. " I don't know what I would have done if I hadn't met you." And she meant it as she spoke. She could feel his fingers intertwined with hers as they walked, to where though, she was uncertain. She wasn't terribly aquainted with all of Dark Haven and figured there were still many places she hadn't been.
Christophe's heart swelled as Nolah leaned against him and said she trusted him. "You'd have been just fine. I know you don't really need anyone, but I'm glad I can be here for you." He decided they could head to Orpheous Park, as it was a nice spot and had plenty of walkways and scenery to look at-- if he could pull his gaze away from Nolah.
As they were headed toward the park, Christophe felt a drop of rain hit his nose. His eyes widened, and he dashed for the nearest awning... nearly ripping Nolah's arm out of the socket as he dove for cover before the rain splashed down.
Making it, he breathed a sigh of relief, and then realized Nolah was looking at him strangely. "Sorry, I hate the rain. You can go ahead and head back if you'd like. It appears I'll be bedding down here for the night." He grinned wryly as he looked out at the sky.
"Don't be silly." Nolah replied as she pulled her scarf over her ears and tucked it under her chin. " I'll call a cab or get an umbrella or something...and we can spend the rest of the day at the inn..." There was a hidden undertone in her voice but she was very good at things like that. Linking her arm in his she glanced up at the sign above the door. They had ducked under the awning of a cafe. " Come on." She tugged him inside and seated him at a table. " You won't go anywhere I presume?" She left the question...or semi-order hanging in the air and then went
about getting an umbrella.
The only one she could see was one of novelty size, perched above an outdoor table. A mischevious smile lit her face and she quickly worked her way back through the crowded (it was amazing what rain would do for business) room back to Christophe. " I have an idea...just wait for me outside under the awning okay?" Without waiting for an answer she was gone again, hoping desperately that he would be waiting for her and ready to at least brave his fear of the rain for the few moments it would take to run back to the inn.
Using her feline agility and quiet to the best of her advantage she snuck around back to the patio and checked quickly. No visible security cameras, her ears were hidden beneath the scarf and the workers seemed very busy. Perfect. With one stout pull she dislodged the giant umbrella (which could have easily fit six people comfortably and dryly beneath) and dashed around towards the front of the building, hoping Christophe would be there. She didn't want to spend the day alone.
Happy that he wasn't going to be deserted, Christophe waiting under the awning, wondering what Nolah was up to. She had seemed rather excited, and her eyes had a glint in them that he was very curious about.
The street was literally deserted as Nolah marched determindly around the corner, the giant umbrella, more like a striped tent than anything, balanced abover her. It was as though she were walking with a portable roof above her head. With relief she spotted Christophe beneath the awning, fabric matcing that of the umbrella. " Look, we can get back to the inn with this. It's like having a bubble around us...look...like six people can fit underneath it. You won't get wet at all...." She said, hoping he would come with her. A day at the inn cuddled beneath warm blankets seemed so appealing.
When Christophe saw Nolah approaching with the table umbrella, he could only stare for a moment. Then he laughed wildly and darted under the umbrella to snatch the umbrella pole with one hand and wrap his other around Nolah and kiss her fiercly. "Thank you," he said, grinning, "I didn't really want to stay under that awning all day. Let's head back to the inn, shall we?"
Nolah was surprised with the ferocity with which Christophe kissed her but didn't mind it in the least. She returned the kiss with as much passion as she could and then giggled. Together the pair ran the rest of the way to the inn. Once there Nolah held the umbrella up so that Christophe could dart up the stairs and then she threw it into the front lawn and ran after him.
