SO Battle Frontier members, I was thinking that the 5th gen, what with Arceus being the Alpha and Omega of Pokemon, could be set in the PAST. The new movie already touched down upon it, Fossil Pokemon have been revived, there have been ancient pokeballs used in the Anime, and stone drawings, so why not?
There WOULD be the problem of Mewtwo's existence though...

That would be pretty interesting, actually.
I'm interested in those "ancient pokeballs"...
There must be some other method to capturing pokemon (possibly aura?)
Anyways, I don't see anything being revealed about Gen 5 until the 13th movie... (kind of like how they included some generation 4 pokemon in some of the third generation movies).

That actually sounds really interesting. =) I'd definitely like to see more of the past of the Pokemon world. I really enjoyed the clips here and there through the Lucario movie with the past of the kingdom (and to be honest, would have loved to have the whole movie set there).
Hm, I suppose in its most basic of times, it would be as if humans formed a pact of cooperation between them and a Pokemon. That's what it seemed to me with Sir Aaron's Pidgeot. The Apricorn idea was definitely interesting as well. :3

No bike. but character wise it be pretty cool you get like this pharaoh looking dude (without dipping into the yugioh universe) or just like a few cloths for clothing.The story could be like your a nomad trainer that walks through all kinds of of terrains and 'leaders' would literally be tribe leaders.Basically its all the same jazz theres a band of baddys know as team ____ that want to take control of ____ so they can _____ the _____.
But also a good idea may be "its modern day, you head over to the professors lab and he's like 'hey I just built a time machine' (and through a string of random events you and a team of baddies get sent through time and all you have is the fossil the professor gave you right be for this all happened which when you arrive there turn into your 'starter') (Your equipment [i.e. bike, pokemap, pokeballs, got scattered as your time machine crash landed] and you have to find them as they have be taken by several nomad tribes) and so you start your adventure as a 10yrold kid in the distant past with one pokemon and your only way back to modern day has been taken by the team baddies that want to use it to awaken an ancient legendary pokemon.
TL;DR- kid gets stuck in the past with no way back to modern day and has to stop team baddies.

about the pokeballs.
if you watch the movie whereash goes back in time, and actually meets up with Professer oak when he was younger, they show that the pokeballs used back then were made of wood, and had to be hand-cranked to open.
