Tourists and Locals alike gathered on a Saturday in the West Haverstraw shopping centre. Kids holding their mothers hands while they cooed and awed at all the different toys and gadgets that they could see. Vendors of all sorts gathered in this place both in the main floor and the basement of the shopping centre to maximize the space. To top it all off, it was a bright and sunny day without a cloud in the sky.
“Status report”
“Confirmed witness reports say that there are mutants inside”
A white, 98, Chevy van remains still in the parking lot of the shopping centre. Within the vehicle is a squad of the Mutant Response Division, otherwise known as the MRD. About 15 parking stalls away, adjacent to the building, is a similar van with another MRD unit waiting. A few personnel of the squad went into the shopping centre already under cover. After an anonymous tip that there would be a few mutants in the shopping center, the team has been bustling and waiting for action.
“Have we got confirmed sightings?”
“Negative, sir, but our Intel suggests that they may be in the basement portion of the facility”
“Get ready to move out!”
“But sir, they haven’t so much as caused a scene”
“Don’t make me say it again, soldier”
“Yes, Sir!”

Ryoga took his time with each step. He wanted to savor every moment he could. Such things could only last for so long. Every bits held an explosion of delight and sugary goodness. In his hand, Ryoga held a bag of freshly made mini doughnuts. He could only sit down on a nearby bench in the basement of the shopping mall and enjoy. He let out a sigh of pleasure as he swallowed the first bite. He turned around and gave a smile and a wave to the lady who had just sold him the bag. She smiled back and returned to her work.

Ryoga re-focused his attention back onto his prize. "So good... It's almost too good to be true..." A feeling of uneasiness came upon him. It was not from the doughnuts, nor from the women who sold them to him, but it felt as if someone was watching.

"Move in! GO GO GO!"
The moment the order was issued, men from both vans piled out and ran to the shopping centre with only one thing on their minds. Mutant Capture.

Bullets flied over head. Panic ensued everywhere. A single tear ran down Ryoga's eye as others around him started falling to the ground. A women ran by him who looked like a human, but could tell by her determination to escape that she was a mutant. They caught each others eyes for just a moment before she ran off. He didn't know why, but he felt that he would be seeing her again, and rather soon by the looks of things.

He set the doughnuts down on the side of the bench and stood up. He could not stand the useless violence that these people were creating. "Stop it! STOP IT!" The tears kept rolling down his face, but he had no intention of letting himself die on the ground this day. His yelling only cause guns to point to him. Ryoga created a single black hole in front of him to absorb all the darts. "I said stop it!" More guns began to point his way. He created another hole behind one of the guards legs. Shots were fired and the guard went down to the ground. "That's strange," Ryoga thought to himself. "The guard should be writing in pain and agony, not dead on the ground." Ryoga took a closer look at the mutants around him and saw that they were not bullets they were using, but small tranquilizers. This gave Ryoga an idea.

"You want to take us all down?!" Abyss had roared out in a commanding voice," Well then you have to take me down as well!" The guns had pointed to him again and set his plan in motion. He set a black hole behind some of the guards and a black hole in front of him once more as they fired. A few more guards went down with a thud. The plan was working.

"He must be the leader! Circle around and get him!"

Abyss saw two guards out of the corners of his eyes circling around to shoot around the circle. "Damn, they have discovered the weak point." Abyss would not be able to last long against all these people. Half of the MRD had already been taken out, but there were very few mutants still standing, and only a couple that were opposing. Now that Abyss knew that they did not kill any of them, it relieved his heart a little. But he could not be caught here. He needed to keep on pressing forward.

Something caught his attention just to his right. It was almost as if a shadow had passed by a small portion of sunlight. He only just realized then that he was now in sunlight and someone had just passed in front of a window. A window he could see out of. He had no choice.

"HOLD IT!" Abyss had yelled out. The firing stopping, even if for just a moment. He put his hands up as if surrendering, but one of the his hands was facing outside so to create a whole outside the window, in fact, he had already done it the moment he raised his hands. "Please do not harm them any further." He spoke with sincerity and truly hoped that they were all still alive. With that, he dropped on hand to the ground and created a hole beneath his feet which he fell through and landed on the ground outside. The holes closed the moment he was through so that no one, if they dared, could follow him.

In front of him was the girl from before. The one that had met his eyes while he sat on the bench. "I see you were able to escape as well. At least I wasn't the only one able to escape." At that moment he just thought of it. He forgot his doughnuts on the bench. "He looked through the window to see the remaining MRD officers detaining the rest of the mutants. Ryoga had such a longing to help them, but there was no way to do so. It was then that he spotted them. His doughnuts still laid untouched by the officers, although some were eying them. "Please excuse me for just a moment.

Ryoga stretched one hand to open a small hole in front of him and stretched the other one out as to create a similar hole just over the doughnuts. Some MRD personal were just about to grab them when a black hole opened up and a hand appeared out of it. It gave them a wave before taking the bag of doughnuts back through the hole. It then suddenly disappeared before their eyes.

With his doughnuts in hand he faced the girl again to better get his bearing of where he was. Apparently a side street with sunlight still hitting it. If it wasn't for that, it would have been a bit more difficult for him to get out.

Ryoga gave a big grin with a doughnut in his mouth when Tayla revealed her name. He swallowed his doughnut and proceeded to speak. "It is nice to meet you Tayla, My name is Ryoga, or some have come to call my "Abyss"."

Ryoga looked in the same direction down the alley way to where they had the mutants lining up with hands tied behind their backs, and bags over sackcloth over their heads. They staggered when they walked giving the impression that the tranquilizers were also drugged. "Looks like they aren't going to be able to put up any bit of a fight then" Ryoga looked up to the rooftops and saw that they had high balconies of stone. He reached one hand up and created a hole just past the balconies where he could see. "To answer your question, we will soon be going elsewhere than right here and you will see why in a moment"

Ryoga looked ahead of the line and saw that they were putting colloars on the mutants as soon as they got to the van. A few had already been tagged with them, and he knew there was nothing he could do, but there were still some left that were waiting in line. He looked the front of the line who had not got a collar yet reached his hand out. A hole appeared beneath the mutant and he landed on top of the building. Ryoga moved both hands over just the slightest to have the whole appear below the next mutant in line and land beside the other on top of the building. The MRD were completely confused with this phenomenon. There were only a few mutants left now until there was only one left. One of the guards had the bright idea to step toward the whole and attempt to step through it, but Ryoga closed it off immediately so that he wouldn't wind up where the others were. He opened the hole one last time to get the last one on the roof. "Ok, that was tiring, but they are safe. Unfortunately, we soon will not be so safe." Kain mumbled as panic ensued around the parking lot until one guard had spotted both Ryoga and Tayla in the alley way.

"Sir! Mutants in the alley way!" The guard shouted
"They are probably responsible for this! Go get them now!"

Ryoga turned to Tayla and gently put his hand around her waste. Roga asked the next question with a slight grin.

"Do you trust me?"

Ryoga continued to look straight ahead at the oncoming MRD, waiting to hear her answer. Whether she agreed or not, he would get her out of there. He was sure that this women also named "Vanity" would be able to escape all by herself, but call it Ryoga's persona. He could never leave a girl behind, no matter how powerful they are.

"It's not going to hurt, whatever you're going to do, right?"
Ryoga gave a big smile and reassured her, "Do not worry Tayla, I promise you this won't hurt" Kain dropped his hand from her waste. She was close enough now that it would be easy to both go at once. His smile faded in an emotionless stare. "Although, it may seem like a bit of a shock." He raised one hand up to the adjacent building roof across from where the mutants where teleported to. Ryoga was careful not to create a hole until he was looking forward again, so not to create suspicion of what he was doing. He faced his other hand to the ground, palm down. "Take a deep breath..."

Ryoga created a hole beneath them and instantly they fell down as if the ground had disappeared beneath them. As soon as they cleared the hole, Ryoga had put one arm under Tayla's knees and one cradling her mid section. Weihtlessness took them for just a moment before falled about 8 ft. to the ground. Ryoga had put down Vanity as soon as they were safe on the ground. He was sure she could land that with ease, but it might have been a bit unexpected. "I think we are safe for now" Ryoga looked over at the adjacent building where the mutants were. "And I think they are doing just fine as well. They havn't been see yet." Ryoga wasn't sure though,of what to do next.

Ryoga looked over to see her panic filled expression and jaw drop. He wanted to laugh out loud, but decided that more than likely was not the best idea at the moment. Instead he composed himself and spoke calmly with a grin and as soft as a whisper. "Do not worry, they are on the building across from us and they should be safe until the affects wear off and they have a better chance of escaping."

Ryoga peered his head over to the mutants across on the other building. "I hope they will be ok at least." He turned his head again towards Tayla with his big smile on his face. He wanted to hide is worry behind the mask of happiness. "But we are not sticking around here to wait for them to snap out of it." He looked out once more away from the whole commotion. "Any place in particular you are heading?" Ryoga didn't really care for company too much, but he wanted to accompany Vanity away from the danger and make sure that she would be able to escape.

Ryoga looked back at Tayla with an over emphasized disappointed look on his face. "Awww," Ryoga cooed suddenly creating a hole beside him only to appear right on the other side of her. "But it is so much fun!" He knew full well that they would not be traveling by his portals, for they took a while to get used to, but he just wanted to have a bit of fun.

"Well, as for where I was heading before, I let fate take me where that is." Again, Ryoga looked off in the distance away from the whole commotion. "How about we head that way, the way that has the least amount of known trouble." Ryoga wanted to get her out of here. Even though they weren't in too dire of a situation, they were still in danger where they were. "My question to you then, if we cannot use my teleporting, is how would you like to get down from here then?" He spoke the last portion with exaggeration in an attempt to make her smile.
