Found something that seems to have worked--or at the very least pared down the problem considerably.
C:_Program_Files_Mozilla Firefox_extensions
There's a folder in there with long, nonsensical alphanumeric name with an .ini or an .exe program in it. (It's been a couple of days and I didn't write it down.) Deleting that folder (with the long name) seems to have done the trick.
Edit: When did slashes stop working in codes? Underscores should be replaced with the appropriate slash.
Edit2: I can't find the exact foldername anymore but it was something like: {9CF826EF-2211-4747-ACD8-711F744C2424} and the content was: install.rdf
Buzz is that it's adobe flash player causing the problems but that may be on an earlier version. I'm not reading for comprehension today. =P

Haven't had problems with Firefox lately, but in case I do, thanks for posting it.

Sure. ^_^ In a day or two if I remember I'll move this to the appropriate forum.
I was having a hell of a time. I couldn't go five BG games/aquarium pages w/o the thing exploding on me. Way worse than usual. I don't think I've tanked once since I removed that folder.
