I don't have Dreams I remember very often and I have found that my recollection of them fades rapidly, as if I am meant to find the lesson in them and then am supposed to forget the dream story.
My dream was about an old canine friend coming back to life and being a companion again.

I had another 'dream' experience that perhaps belongs here. Perhaps not.
I was up in the night. Not unusual. You check on things, calm the canine, do your business and go back to bed. After some more sleep I got up again: not so usual. I look at the clock and it, once again, reads the time that I got up previously. Somehow, in the morning, I remember this.
Was one of the' awakened' episodes a dream? Did I time travel? Is my brain occasionally going on its own side trips?

If you believe in astral travel, maybe that's what you experienced. I do believe, but I know it's a copntroversial subject, so I let people have their own opinions about it sweatdrop
My dreams lately have been mostly about my youth. It's been weeks I dream about childhood times, clothes, friends and moments. Funny enough, last time my boyfriend was with me, even if I was dreaming I was more or less 15 years old. I think this is because he's now a very important part of my life, and I love him in a way I've never loved before. He makes me complete, and I like to think we're passing through this stage of youth -> middle age together.
Of course sometimes I just dream about cats, but that's a personal obsession sweatdrop

I wish I remembered more of my dreams. I so seldom do. There are nightmares that send me screaming from the world of sleep and I am grateful that those fade quickly. But the good ones....I just think that there are things that I should learn from them.

Last night was a traveling dream...I was driving my old van, the '80 Ford I bought in 1984, that was a big empty box behind the two bucket seats.
I was going...someplace...with my old dog, Maggie - she was a shaggy black retriever. The journey was important, not the getting anywhere, I had the sense.

Had one of those dreams the other night that I had to escape. I made myself wake up in order to get away....from what, I don't know.....

Recently I've been having lots of nightmares... mostly dreaming of ghost children. Since I was little, ghost children have been in my dreams, always haunting me and scaring me.
I, personally, don't like kids. They are noisy, weird. I'd never hurt one, but if I can avoid them, I feel better.
The weird part is that those ghost kids in my nightmares are always quiet, with hollow eyes and I'm sure, evil intentions. Does anybody have an idea of why these things seems to be always haunting me?

I'm no expert on dreams. I wonder if the dreams are a factor in your avoidance of the short, noisy, weird people or if your preference caused the dreams.
My nightmares have involved work, feeling trapped, being pressured to do impossible things by controlling people the I know IRL.

@ Akabi: There are many different theories as to what dream mean, or how they can be interpreted.
I remember 7/10 of my dreams most of the time and I mainly dream in color...there are days when I will dream in black and white and I usually wake up from them because I feel that something in wrong and I end up waking up feeling like something is watching me.
About your dreams of ghost children...I consulted a friend of mine (he and I both like to study the conscience/subconscience and dreams the like) and he said that it could be that, even though you don't like to be around children, you may be very receptive to child spirits and that is the only way they can contact you; could be something that is bothering you and it takes the form of a child due to stress levels. The empty eyes, I assumed you said empty as in black holes, void of the eye itself?, could mean that you are feeling like you are not doing something you feel that you should be; ie...you may have chores that are bogging you down or possibly bills *could be just about anything really that pertains to stress in your life* or it could be you have something following you that can only affect you in your dreams because you are untouchable while you are awake and your mind is telling you that you need to wake up ; thus it is using something that bothers you to trigger a panic and you wake up, causing what ever it was to be thwarted and it leaves. Could be that said pursuer are random things that happen to find you while you sleep and your brain does what it has to to keep you safe.
There are many different interpretations. I'm not saying these are the cause, or that any of them are...
Just some food for thought.

my dreams are wild. i dreamed i ate a book that was baked in a pot pie. it tasted like chicken.
i know there is a meaning there...someplace.
i have heard that dreams come from your own brain resetting itself and sorting out all of your memories and experiences while you sleep, sort of like what happens when your computer is defragged.
stress and worries about something will often determine what kind of dream you have, so you have to pay attention to them, cuz they are trying to tell you something.

I had a dream that I was pregnant, went through the entire pregnancy...had the child...it was a boy and his name was Thomas....which was weird because the ghost child that attached himself to me wasn't anywhere to be found...and the dream continued till Thomas's 2nd birthday. Like a week after it I woke up...it was very bizarre and this wasn't the first time I have had this dream, but every time I have it it gets more detailed and more happens. I don't know what to make of it.
Thomas is an 8 year old boy I found in my parents' basement when I was about 8 almost 9. He's been with me ever since...he's even moved with me to the two places I have moved to since living at my parents' house. It's driving me insane.

Dreams are something I've been really interested in for as long as I can remember. I've always felt special concection with them, but haven't really found great meaning in most of them. Maybe I'm just a bad interpreter.... Usually, right upon waking, I'll forget most of my dream except the fealing from it. Like I know what it was about and how I felt from it, but can't put it into words. It's usaully later, when I'm taking a morning shower, that I'll remeber some of it. Maybe I'll just see a quick image from it, or totally remeber the whole thing. Sometimes, on a lucky day, I'll remeber the whole thing from the time I wake up and years afterword. My dreams give me insperation for my writing (I used to write roleplays) and sketchings. Usually, my dreams are pretty crazy. One of my favorites was about a war. I was part of the losing side, called the Reds. The Blues (the 'bad' side) burned down the feilds and towns of the Reds and enslaved all survivors. A few refugies (me included) escaped that fate and found refuge in the Blue capital. Someone caught on that I was a Red and called the police on me. They nearly shot me, but another Red saved me. He introduced me to a group of refugies who called themselves Green. They attacked Blue from the inside. I woke up shortly after that. I just loved that dream, that place, even though it was such a dark dream filled with blood and violence. It was a simple place. I don't know what that says about me, but I still love dreams mrgreen

Now that I have finished all of the Laurell K. Hamilton 'Anita Blake' books....I'm dreaming about being a character like her! I'm not sure what this means other than I have this nagging feeling that I need to go out and practice some magic....
