Civilian Occupation: Writer/Artist
Yes I've made money doing both. I've laid off the art some to improve on published writing. I'll post how that goes after my next book has been out for a while.

It doesn't have to be about the money. you can do it for experience and meeting new people. is why I like volunteering.

*Agrees with Sekundes* I can enjoy work a lot. But sometimes, to give my time real meaning and purpose, I often volunteer.
Most recently, I was the cookie monster at a children's fair. All day in the heat wearing that thing... whew...
And then the march of dimes walk/run for infants. It was only a few miles, but it was nice to see so many parents out with their children, as well as other volunteers who just wanted to do something good for the community and have a good time. ^_^

I should have mentioned my obsession with volunteering.
I volunteered 600+ hours in my last 3 years in high school razz
I figured, why not? it was worth it. I got so much reference letters, but most of all, it was fun <3 I got to volunteer at carnivals and stuff for elementary kids biggrin

Figure what out? how volunteering is much more uplifting then working for money? smile
It's nice because you set a good example and people learn and more people volunteer! biggrin yay!

"Maybe we're friends, Maybe we're more...  I have volunteered a bit in the past. Some in school and for my dad's friend when he was running for congress. I got to be in parades, go to carnivals, meet new people and most of all spend time with my dad. That campaign at the time was a blast.
But back on the subject to work, with a job it does give you more responsibility. Not to mention you get paid for the hard work you put in. I wish I could get paid more, but you know how that goes. sweatdrop ...Maybe it's just my imagination."
