Alright, so I have a really short, silly, story that I think you guys will like, but I didn't know where to put it. So, I made a thread for non-serious literature. Feel free to put your own stories here too. Anything goes: true stories, rambles, made up fairy tales, jokes... This is the thread for short and enjoyable little diddles that don't seem to fit anywhere else. Have fun.
The Pen Story:
Once upon a time there was a PEN.
And not just any PEN, the greatest, most beautiful PEN in all the land! A PEN so great and enchanting that anyone who wrote with it went crazy. They would fall under a spell so strong that they wouldn't, couldn't stop writing. People would write, and write, until they broke every bone in their hands and died from thirst and starvation.
And so for the safety of his people a wise King locked the PEN away in the deepest darkest dungeon, out of sight, out of mind, never to be used. Months became years, years became decades, generations passed, and eventually all knowledge of the powerful and terrible PEN was lost to myth and legend.
Then one day the smallest least significant maid of the castle, a humble child by the name of Jane, was sent down to the deepest darkest dungeon to do some long overdue cleaning. To her great surprise she found the PEN, the moment she set her innocent eyes upon it she was entirely besotted by it's spell. Twisted and blinded by the elegant power of the PEN, Jane decided to run away with it. However before she could escape the castle she was betrayed by a friend who had become jealous and wanted the PEN for herself! Both maids died fighting over it and finally the PEN fell into the hands of the royal family.
They too succumbed to the PEN's evil will. They fought each other viciously over the enchanting PEN, forsaking their responsibilities and becoming cruel paranoid tyrants. The kingdom soon fell into a dark spiraling chaos.
Until, one day many years later a young, carefree boy named Billy managed to steal the PEN. How or Why he did this is a mystery, as he was just a tiny boy, who didn't really know or care about much of anything except what his next meal was going to be. In fact anyone who had ever met the child, completely agreed that he was quite possibly the dimmest boy in the world. He couldn't even write his own name.
As it turned out, this was a strike of good fortune, as the great and powerful PEN that had held the kingdom in it's dark and evil clutches for years upon years, had no effect upon Billy whatsoever.
So the royal family was finally freed from the PEN's influences and started to rebuild their Kingdom. All the people in the land rejoiced, and agreed that it was indeed for the best that Billy had never been properly educated.
Except of course for Billy, who continued with his life, and had no idea the PEN he had was really that remarkable at all.

You can actually post this in the Oneshot section, or if it's a series of installments, perhaps in the Short Stories section.
Very funny, and very adorable. Poor, uneducated Billy. D:

...lulz.
Amazing. Poor Billy. And yes, OneShots or Short Stories is fine for this; however, a warning of crack or some such to identify the story as a ramble or a pointless works should be in the title. Just so people know. smile
