Endangered Species
~`*`~~`*`~~`*`~~`*`~~`*`~~`*`~~`*`~~`*`~~`*`~~`*`~
Story: The VAMPIRE race has become so small that only ten of them remain. The rest have been hunted and destroyed by the humans, werewolves and other species. The only way to save the vampire line is by turning willing/unwilling humans into vampires themselves. There is a possible chance that the Vampire species will survive, but only if they bite and change humans. Hunters still search for vampires, the world is a dangerous place for the hunters who have now become the hunted.

D a v i d - D e p s ______________________________________ In the shadows of an alley, the body of a prostitute fell to the wet cement. Her skin was shriveled, her eyes were rolled back and her body seemed tight, her bones in a dead set. The man, or dare say, creature who had let her fall was of a rare species. His name was David Deps and this animal was a vampire. Every night he fed on blood, and every night David looked for a human worthy of becoming "his kind." The race of vampires was at risk, now facing extinction, they were concidered an endangered species. It was a job for the remaining few to revive the dieing race, by biting and turning humans. But acceptable humans were hard to come by, David thought of them as no more than cattle or a flock of sheep. The only humans he was willing to turn were the beautiful. Unfortunatly, beautiful people usually came with a horrible personality. Thinking of themselves to highly, they would speak nonsense while looking down their noses. Killing them was much easier, David found it rather pleasing to watch a good looking human suffer painfully than die. With eyes wide open, lieing in a pool of their own crimson blood, he could watch them for hours until the blood dried and cracked on their skin. But that was before, now the time of vampires seemed to be at an end. One couldnt afford to be picky, David had to recrute humans quickly. Before he himself became one of the hunted and died a flaming fiery death.

D a v i d - D e p s ______________________________________ He left the body in full sight, with four holes in her bleeding neck, David didnt bother to cover his tracks. It was more out of habbit than arrogance, he ate and didnt wash his dish. Deps stolled out of the alley, he smoothed down his shirt and tugged his collar strait. A couple walked past him, the young girl looked up at the vampire her eyes quickly reflecting lust and desire. But David only smiled and let them pass, he had taken his fill, hunger no longer burned his viens. Tonight was a night to search, it had been over a month since David had turned a human. The last fledgling was born foolish and died fourteen days after becoming a vampire. Deps was determined to not make the same mistake again, he would choose his new novice carefully. To be sure that he or she was strong in mind body and spirit.
David aproached a bar named "Gloom", it was a place for young teens. Where humans gathered to drink and enjoy themselves. There was no bouncer, only a double door entrance that lead to a large room. The area was half covered in tables and chairs, while the other half was for dancing.

Do-mharaithe Feallmharfoir Do-mharaithe Feallmharfoir or Dusky as a few people he came in contact on a regular basis had taken to calling him sat in the corner booth at a bar as usual he was alone always alone after all nothing teaches you how to be alone then watching everything you ever loved fade away. He was a mere shadow of a man and one who had nothing left in this world. Which he mused about as he swirled his whiskey I had only ever wanted to be a family man and live a simple life so much for that. As he reflected he absent mindedly rubbed the wvyrn pendent which was always about his neck the only clue to a past his "creator" had stripped from him. Not much I can do about that now can I he says aloud in his deep gravelly voice and finishes his scotch. His sense of sardonic sarcasm showing its head it had been his defense mechanism for so long it was part of his soul now. (forgive me I am knew at this and am still learning how to role play well)

Zya QuinZya was dancing letting out all her pent up energy from sitting around a boring meeting hall all day. She was at the club "Gloom" one of her favorite hang outs. She'd heard tale of vampire killings nearby to the club which made her like the club even more. As she danced she looked around the room hoping to spot someone who appeared to be a vampire. There was one guy she had spotted in a corner both but he didn't seem very approchable so she decided to bide her time and wait it out see if maybe another one caught her eye. She turned her eyes to the doors to watch the people that where coming in. She smiled when she saw a man she'd seen many times before on her vampire hunts she was almost positive he was a vampire but hadn't come up with the courage to approch him yet, mianly because she didn't know what to say and hated to sound like a fool. From what she'd gathered from people who worked at "Gloom" his name was David but other than that not much was known. She was determined to talk to him tonight, just not right away she'd let him get comfortable first.

Do-mharaithe Feallmharfoir looking around the crowd he noticed that one young girl had stared at him for awhile but then again anyone was young compared to him. But no matter he would retire to his home he left the money on that table and headed to the rough end of town when his small apartment was. Dusky was always alone. Dusky wasn't even sure why he bother to go out at all he would never speak or be spoken to aside form placing his simplistic drink order but now he would simply sit and the bar keep brought him his drink because he never ordered anything besides a glass of the houses strongest whiskey, and he would leave the money on table and leave. As he walked down one of the narrow trash filled alley ways the skys opened and it started to pour. Dusky stopped and pulled down his hood and leaned his face up to the sky he didn't know why but rain was something that had always comforted him and made his sadness ebb if only for a little while. Dusky folded it over his Jacket over his arm and enjoyed the sensation of rain on his skin. When he got to his apartment he laid his head on the door then walked in alone always alone. He hung his jacket on the hook by the door and threw all his wet clothes onto the floor in the bathroom and put a dry pair of boxers on and he sat before his small fire place and like every other night he fell asleep reading a history book and enjoying the errors these little mortals made. He awoke a short whole later what was the point of sleeping at night when he would be trapped inside all day anyway!? He knew he hadn't fed lately he hated the need and the desire he never wanted to hurt anyone but his curse made it necessary. Like a cliche character in some mortals tv show he had made the choice to never hunt women and children only the criminals who ran the streets like rats ran in the sewers of this city. Dusky threw on a shirt and pants laced up his boots and threw his jacket on before he went out into the night to hunt once again. It didn't take long to find what he was looking for he found too men huddled in a corner of the alley they were making a drug deal how pathetic they wanted to escape their little lives how would they feel if there was no escape but you lived eternally with no distractions. He silently approached the two men and he used his telekinesis an ability that seemed to come with his curse to hold one while he drained the other man turning his to a gray husk, of parchment like skin drawn tight over protruding bones he then dropped the man and stated on the second. Once he had finished Dusky collected the remains of his dinner and carried them to a burning barrel one of many in the back alleys and poured the dried out husks in the barrel and then walked slowly back to his apartment. Once there he took a cold shower and watched the fire he closed his eyes and palyed back the days of his torment and transformation like always he could not remember the face only the laugh.

D a v i d - D e p s ______________________________________ Gloom was a dark place, the lights were turned down to create a murky feel. There were neon blue lights coming from the ceiling, strobelights came from the top of the bar, bubbles floated down and around, people felt as if they were under water, swimming instead of dancing.
David knew that other vampires came to this bar, he could smell their dead damp flesh and taste the blood they drank in the air. But he had yet to speak with one, David was interested, but fear gripped his throat. He felt that if he spoke with one of his kind, then he would be forced to fully grasp the idea of the vampire species being endangered.

D a v i d - D e p s ______________________________________ He quickly found a place at the bar, Davids eyes burned with the constant flash of the strobe light, but he forced himself to endure. The bar tender was a young women, her name was Tess and she knew David by face only. As he sat down the women aproached with a smile.
"Hey there, though guy. Long time no see." Her voice rang with foolery, "What would you like? The usual?"
David nodded. "Tonight id like a couple shots of vodka. We can leave the usual for later."
"Sounds good." She said, and reached under the bar. Tess pulled out three shot glasses and a bottle of SKY. She set the glasses in a row infront of David, then filled them up by pouring the liquid from first shot to last. She spilt only a couple drops of vodka, each glass filled equally. "This rounds on the house," Tess cooed. She winked and left to tend another customer.

Do-mharaithe Feallmharfoir Dusky opened his eyes and took a long cold shower. He went back to his room and pulled on a long sleeve cotton short and some dark jeans and laced on his boots he never wore shoes I guess it was a relic of his past. As Do-mharaithe Feallmharfoir walked to closet to get a black button down shirt he looked at the box on the floor containing his twin falchions blades made for him special ad perfectly balanced he was an expert with them not that that mattered much in world where a sniper shot could take your head off at over a mile away. He merely shook his head and kicked the box further into the closet and went to meet his contact. He was brooding he needed the thrill of a new mark to take his mind of his sorrows he was well off but you would never know it from the way he dressed or his small shabby apartment the only thing he had of value apart from his blades was his collection of first editions his beloved book collection most had had signed by the author when the were still alive. He thought about the days he got to talk to those great men....But dusky couldn't afford to reminisce now he left his apartment and walked to a small cafe in the south east of the city where he would meet a man who would give him his new mark. Dusky hated being limited by the night hours he had loved hiking in the woods outside his home in Ireland and he would climb a hill and watch the sun rise over the sea...he put the thought out of his head the past was dead just like his family. Dusky's mood darkened as he headed to the cafe called the brass tea kettle. It was here he would meet his contact and get a job Dusky was amused by the fact that this person thought he could hold leverage over him and threaten him I wonder what would happen if he saw my true colors Dusky thought as he pushed the doors open. and as always he sat in a corner booth with his back to the wall and a clear view of all entrances and exits. He always got there first he wondered what "important things" always held his contact up whom of course never gave his name it was secrecy that guided his world this was merely another though Dusky could care less he no longer cared for any living thing anymore why should this man be so special Dusky had even come to hope a hunter would just end him but he wanted to go out fighting and be fairly beaten. In reality he knew it would probably be shot fired in the dark and straight to the back of his head that would be his inglorious end. How endlessly amusing. After waiting for an hour for his contact he decides he wont be showing and wonders what happened the man was never late. Dusky didn't really care except it meant he would have to wait for another job bored and wanting to be near people he decided to g back to "gloom" how appropriate that name was. When he went through the doors a feather could have knocked him out there was a vampire in there. Dusky decided to do nothing and merely return to his corner booth. The bar keep brought his another whiskey and he pondered why his contact didn't show and what he could do in the mean time since he didn't have a "job" to do, good thing he saved his money. Dusky keep track of his surroundings but he was still curious as to what could have delayed his friend? Did the law or another agency get a hold of him? would he have to pull up stakes and move yet again?! Best not to thinnk about it and just enjoy his drink.

D a v i d - D e p s ______________________________________ David grasped one of the shot glasses, he brought it up to his mouth and was about to take a drink, when his nose caught the sent of a walking corpse. His eyes followed the smell to a corner booth, David finished off the first shot of SKY and looked toward the man. The first thing he noticed was a pair of gleaming green eyes, David smiled, but turned back to the bar before the two could make eye contact. Instead, David kept the image in his mind, he thought of the vampire as very handsome, pale skin had always been a weakness for David. In the GLOOM light, the new vampire glowed blue, his skin refecting the neon. David sighed and took another shot. Alcohol did very little for him, David would have rather drank the blood of a drunk mortal or perhaps mixed human blood with his vodka, either would have been much more satisfying. With one shot left, David began to feel a bit bored. He glanced to his right, than at his left. The humans around him where uninteresting, and none drunk enough to bite.

Do-mharaithe Feallmharfoir Dusky sat uneasily in his corner booth he stared at his whiskey goblet and waited for the vampire at the bar to make a move. It had to have been centuries since he had sensed another vampire let alone seen one. Dusky wondered where the man had been that he too was able to escape extinction, at the hands of the lesser races. The fact that there were two of them maybe the only two in the world being in the same city might present an alluring target to the hunters. What did all this mean perhaps the vampire race was yet to go extinct like he had feared for at the bar was his proof that he was not the only one left! He would have to approach the man or wait for the man to make his move but he did not want to miss the chance to interact a vampire he hadn't gotten that rare privileged in over a century!

D a v i d - D e p s ______________________________________ He threw back his last shot, as the liquid prickled the inside of his throat David made up his mind to aproach the Vampire. But first he raised his hand, to get the bar tenders attention. Tess noticed him quickly and in a flash, she was asking him what type of drink he would like to order.
"That was fast," she giggled, "Are you lookin to get trashed tonight? Gona take someone home?" Tess winked, "I get off at twelve, if your interested."
"Just the usual." David said seriously, his mind was elswere, "Make it two."
"Okaaaaay." Tess frowned. She took out two large glasses, made to hold a can of beer each, and filled them to the top with Wild Turkey Bourbon Whiskey. "That'll be twelve dollars." She pushed the mugs up to David, and waited with her hand open.
