◈ Magic Types ◈
✿Black magic:
Black magic is used generally for enormous destruction. The greater the negative or greedy emotions, or the intention to hurt another, the more effective the spells will be. This magic type is generally used against living beings; because most of the spells tend to effect any living being with a spirit or anything that is or contains a spirit. Because it draws magic from the demon lords, only certain black magic spells can be used against the demon lords or the mazoku ( mazoku, are demons/monsters); this magic type tends to be most effective toward beings that have souls.
( Examples of black magic users: Lina, Xellos, Rezo. )
✿Light magic:
Light magic spells require some of the casters life force to cast, and are used for healing or protection. Light magic is rarely ever used for offensive intentions, but is used for defense, such as completely stopping an enemy spell from ever reaching you. There are a few rare cases that light magic can be used in offense; one spell can bounce an enemy cast offensive -spell right back at the enemy. Light magic can also be used in offense when one is attacking a Mazoku. Light magic can only be used in offense against the undead, against Mazoku, and against other spirit -like beings, so long as they have evil intention. Otherwise it is a magic type that works simply to heal allies of any bad conditions or sickness.
(Examples of light magic users: Amelia, Slyphiel, Filia and fire dragons, Lina, Rezo.)
✿Shamanistic magic:
Shamanistic magic focuses on manipulation and alteration of the natural world. It draws power from the elements air, earth, fire, spirit, and water; because of this, shamanistic magic has the widest range of magical ability. Due to this magic type's wide range of spells, this type of magic is effective against all types of creatures, human, spirit, mazoku and demon lords themselves.
( Examples of Shamanistic magic users: Zelgadis, Rezo, Lina )
* Just because there are magic types doesn't mean a magic user is limited to one type. Some sorcerers/sorceresses use all of the magic types (Lina, Rezo), while others stick mainly to one type but still may know a few spells from another type. Others prefer to stick to one type and no other types of magic. ( Examples: Lina and Rezo can use all types, Amelia knows mainly light magic, but knows some shamanistic magic, she knows little to no black magic. Zelgadis knows mainly shamanistic magic. Xellos pretty much only knows black magic. And Filia only knows some light magic, as well as her special abilities and spells as a fire dragon. )
