Do you have/want any pets? Tell us about them.
Are you a cat person? Dog person?...Gerbil person?
In this thread, feel free to discuss any pets you may have/want/take an interest in.
As for me...
Let's start at the beginning...
My mother refused to let us have any pets growing up that couldn't be kept in a fish bowl. Lol.
So as a kid, my brother and I were each permitted to pick out a cat and keep it at my grandmother's. But they aren't really MY pets anymore. And they are also like, eleven years old.
I had a fish for a while, one of those Betta things. The first one was "Anubis", he was followed by "Mephisto". Mephisto lived for a long time, a few years, actually, and even accompanied me to my college dormitory. More recently, I had "Alexander the Ehh..." because he wasn't all that great. Of course, he only lived one night before the cats killed him...He was replaced by "Admiral Nemo". But that one didn't live too long either. Now I think I'm done with fish...I can't keep them alive.
But mostly, I'm a cat person.
The first cat I ever had that was actually MINE was Calypso. She's about two and a half years old now. And while she's still somewhat mine, she now lives with my mother. *Sigh* That's what I get I guess. I moved back in with my mom temporarily, and had nowhere to take the cats but to her house. She sucked up her dislike of pets and let me bring them...and guess what? She's so in love I don't get my babies back now that I've moved out again. Lol.
For a while I had a little black kitten named Dinah. I named her after Alice's cat in Alice's Adventures in Wonderland. But she had feline leukemia and died after only a few months. It was hard on me, a lot harder than it probably should have been.
She was replaced by Lucius. He's still living, and again, he's moved to my mother's. He and Calypso are now her cats, sadly. Because Lucius and I were quite close. He's the one I pretty much consider MY baby.
Now, in the new house, we have two other cats.
My roommate's cat, Alice, and my new boy, Tom (Riddle). For a while, I was tempted to give him a different name. But as it turns out, he's pretty much the world's naughtiest kitten (note how, in the photo, he's fast asleep in my CLEAN towels). So the name suits. XD
For those who don't know, my roommate is Celtic Grace. XD So Alice is HER cat. Lol.
I also had a dog for a short time, named Bella (because she was a very bad dog XD). But I couldn't keep her, due to lack of time and fundage, and ended up giving her away to Lucie Furr...she had an accident and is no more. sad
Anyway, those are my pets. Tell me about yours? What do you love/hate about them? Etc etc...GO!

Started out life with around fifty cats out at my grandfather's old farm. I also had a pig for a short while until it became bacon. There was also Twister, a quarter horse, that my brother and I road all the time. Ah, saddle sores. Do cows count as pets? XD When I was two my uncle bought my brother and I a black chow puppy. We named him Kohl. He died when he was eleven of rectal cancer. We also had a black lab name Windsor, but he got ran over on the highway when my dad was hunting one day. They were both such sweet dogs.
The Christmas after Kohl died my uncle bought my little sister's a shih tzu puppy. They name him Rags. The dog quickly decided he'd rather be my dog, and growls at anyone who touches him, except me. After Windsor got ran over, my brother bought Jake for my dad. Another black lab. He was a fat little toad, and soon turned out to be one of the biggest labs I've ever seen. We couldn't keep him in our kennel, he was just too big, so he ended up moving out to my brother's in the country.
My dad replaced Jake with Rowdy, a german shorthaired pointer. His tail is docked, so when he wags it his whole body wags. And he's always excited.
I lived with my brother for a while, taking care of my niece. I received Bella from Madison shortly before I moved out there while Caena and I tried getting a house together. Didn't work out. Bella wasn't the brightest of dogs, although I did come to love her. She ended up getting her collar caught on the running board of my van and ended up under the tire. It was a quick death, thankfully.
Okay, so that's the dogs. On to the cats.
After Kohl died (he was a notorious cat killer for some reason) a little half-grown, scrawny orange tabby cat wandered into our yard. We were told we could pet her and play with her, but not to feed her. We listened, my dad didn't. And that's how we got Tabby. She's old now, and tends to get cranky if sit next to her and don't pet her. She has very sharp claws. I know from experience.
And now for Macca, name derived from a Beatle. I found him outside the grocery store where I used to work on a cold, rainy day. This pathetic little kitten would mew and follow anyone who walked by it. My heart broke and I picked him up and put him in my old van to take home. While driving home this scrawny, wet, pathetic little kitten decides he needs to crawl up me and curl around my neck. A pattern that continues to this day. Which would be find except the fat-a** weighs about twenty pounds. He's not as big as Maddie's Lucius, but he's still a big cat. But he's my baby. I loves him.
I've also had a few betas, but with my cats they always seem to mysteriously disappear. Or my mom kills them by cleaning the bowl instead of letting me do it.

Lol. Nice.
Yeah, Bella wasn't exactly a SMART puppy. But I loved her. She annoyed me to no end and drove me mad, but I still loved her. Which is why I gave her to YOU instead of just getting rid of her. Poor thing. At least she didn't die in the pound, right?
And OMG! Rags! It's so true! He even growls at me and he's known me FOREVER. But he's a hilarious dog because he'll be growling and loving the attention all at once. He does the "Pet me...*grooowwwllll*...Did I say stop petting me?" thing. XD
And Macca is a huge huge cat. But yes, Lucius is pretty massive too. I love him soooo much. But the first thing ANYONE says when they see him the first time is "WHOA! That cat is HUGE!" Lol.
My mother did that a few times. Decided to clean out the fish bowl and things went horribly wrong...

Sorry, I have to do this. I blame you, Maddie.
Pet people. Pet people. Taste like pet. Walk like people.

So many pets. xP
Okay, let's do this chronologically.
The first bet I actually remember having was a puppy named Duchess. I think.. Give me a break, I was two, and we didn't have her very long XP She bit my brother when he was about six weeks old, and was taken to the pound.
I didn't like it. She was still my puppy, and I was a bit spoiled as a child *cough* So my mom went and got Buddy, the sweetest dog known to man. He was a black lab/Newfoundland, so he was HUGE and very, very hairy. He stayed with us until my senior year of high school when he died on Halloween *sniffles*
During that time, we also got Cheyenne, a wolf-hybrid. She was fun, playful, energetic, but kind of.. I don't know... snapped or something, and went on a cat-killing spree o.O Not good..
When I was an eighth grader, my dad remarried. My step-mom had two dogs at the time, a pit-bull/daucsund mix and a bassett hound. The bassett hound was a biter and was sent to a rescue, and they got a border collie named Yoshi.
Now, they have a rottie mix named Bosco (Gayest dog in the world, I can assure you), and two yellow lab demons named Harvey and Gus. They also have several cats: Diego, Diablo, Domingo, Dante, Dax, and Peanut.
As for me, after I moved out and was trying to live with Lucie (stupid job and not enough hours..) I had a heeler/border collie named Vader (biggest sissy in the world). He was the pup of the dog tha tI had originally got, but she ran away. When we moved, Vader went to stay with a friend, and was changed to Gars..God, why GARS?! Honoestly?! xP
Anyway. Now I have Alice, and I think I like having cats better than dogs xD they're at least semi-independent!

You always went on to me about how you were a 'dog person' rather than a cat person and blah blah. But I told you that cats were better. razz
I mean, don't get me wrong, I love dogs. But cats can take care of themselves. If I get up and leave the house for the weekend, the cats will take care of themselves. But if you leave a DOG, we have a problem...haha.
