If I'm having trouble on a song (like I'm rushing) then I'll get it out, but I won't use one on a regular basis.

If it's a tough piece with complicated rhythms then I use one for a little while 'till I get better at it...I'm gonna be using it a lot this year

When I practice alone, I'm just too lazy to get it out so I just count slowly while i learn what the piece should sound like. When playing with a small group of flutes though, we almost always use a metronome to practice.

I just figure out the beats and I tap my toes. Metronomes piss me off.

I tend to rush, so I have one with a blinking light that I keep beside me so if I think I need it I can turn towards it and if I don't, I can easily ignore it.

Metronomes are more than recommended, especially when you are reading new music. Once you practice enough, you can match the beat with the beat you feel from your heartbeat, or you can count in your head to avoid rushing or slowing down. Even so, still use the metronome to keep your beat on par, because even if you DO tap your foot or toe, it's very easy to trick yourself into believing you're in time. But try not to tap your toe or foot; count in your head or use your heartbeat, because once you perform on stage, the tapping thing looks very unprofessional. Trust me on this one.

I use mine all the time! My rhythm isn't particuarly good so it helps a lot. I only ever use it on 0 or 1 bpm, cause otherwise I get confused!

I usually only use it for solos or something. Lately, I've been using it to practice for playing tests and Solo and Ensemble.

Hm /: No one goes on anymore. I'm reading this and I'm just like, so confused. Like I feel stupid for not using a metronome, but I use mine a lot now.

I use my metronome a lot lately becaue I have been practicing pieces that are all about time. The Mozart Concerto im working on has to be exact and the people judging you expect it to be, and the only way to get it very exact is by practicing with a metronome, always >.<
