If darkness encircles,

they can have it.
Everything that is important to me,

My soul that I keep safe.
If I have this,
nothing can touch me.
No matter the cripple of sorrow.
If I keep this, nothing will change forever.
For when I receive a smile,
I'll still have the power to return it.
