____ I've been a big fan of bento boxes for a couple of years, but never purchased one until last year. I used it a lot and it was quite useful, but I unfortunately lost it.

Schools coming around, and since I rarely eat breakfast, and the lunch line takes 20 minutes just to GET the food, I was thinking a more practical approach was necessary.

I want to buy the Ms. Bento seen here to use while I'm in school. I already know the types of food I could put in it, the issue is just the expense. (I'm showing the amazon version because of the reviews and such, but I'm buying it at veryasia)

With shipping for that item, it's $46. I've read fantastic reviews on amazon for it, but there it's more expensive. I have yet to find it cheaper anywhere else.

I believe it would be a very good purchase, just because I would be able to not only try different foods, eat healthier and eat a balanced meal, but I'd use it each day. But with this, I'm hesitant and want advice for it.

I'm a high-school student, and I'm currently trying to afford a car by next year. I've looked at other stores around here, and their (good) lunch boxes are 40-50.

So now I come here. Since this is a cooking guild, I thought I'd get better adivce. Are there cheaper lunch boxes/bentos that hold a heafty amount of food and are good quality? Would it be a good purchase, or am I just being opinionated? (Opinionated as in, I really want to make my own lunches and I somewhat enjoy spending money).

D;
Sorry for the inconveinance of my questions.

Go with this bento box. It is worth it from what I've searched on it.
I think I might even get one, as the Mr would be too big for me. (80% full! xd )
Especially soup, rice, and kimchi! Ahh, I'm getting hungry.

Have you tried searching on Ebay? I bet you could find a good buy there!

I agree, http://www.jbox.com/BENTO is a terrific source. That's where I bought about half of my bento supplies; the other half came from a store which unfortunately doesn't have a web store anymore.

Think about the cost of a lunch box plus the food to put in it. Do you have to buy your own food, or do your parents still feed you because you're in high school and they're legally required to feed you? smile So, if you buy a lunch box -- even if it's $40 or so -- you still won't be paying cafeteria prices. When I was in school, I could get a bagel, cup of chicken soup, and a soft drink for $2.50. Today, the same meal would probably be $5. You can only buy eight lunches for $40 at that rate -- less than two weeks worth of lunches.

Spending $40 on a lunch box may seem extravagant, but think about the fact that you can save $45 in school lunches every single week that you're in school, and suddenly it's not such a bad deal, eh?
