For the main part of the background story for this RP, read the Old world->New world storyline thread. The prophet Nathan will take it from here....

Nathan looked around at the chaos as the sisters milled around trying to reconcile what had just happened. Gently he tugged on the rada'han around his neck knowing exactly what he was going to do first.

Making sure to stay in sight so as to not arouse any suspicions Nathan started running through his checklist of things he would need to accomplish. First being the removal of the rada'han. He could not afford to be hindered right now and the rada'han did just that. It hindered. Then he would make good his escape for the only sister that stood a chance of reining him in once his rada'han off was the Prelate, Ann.

Smiling at the thought of having freedom once more Nathan picked at his garb. This black robe would definitely have to go he decided. It lacked a certain flair that Nathan felt was necessary to go through life. It also didn't hurt things that without that black robe most of the sisters would be hard pressed to describe him fully. Since most avoided looking at him considering him to have gone mad and too dangerous to be kept if it had not been for the fact he was a prophet.

He really wasn't mad. Just his view of the world was infinitely different of that of the Sisters because of his ability to deal with prophecy. Though truth be told Nathan did not really do anything to discourage the notion that he was mad. It granted him a certain liberty without the Sisters sticking their noses into everything that he was doing.

With his checklist firmly in mind Nathan truly hoped the Prelate knew what she was about. He knew her to be a crafty woman in her own right but sometimes she concerned him. The groundwork had to be laid down properly else it would all come to naught. Nathan just knew that Ann did not like her plans to be altered and his being alone and without a rada'han was definitely not among the things that she wanted to have happen.

Unfortunately for her it was a necessity and Nathan would do what he must to bring the proper Prophecies to pass and he did not need Ann with her limited understanding of them breathing down his neck while he went about his work. Then he smiled at the thought of all those centuries he had spent subverting the Sisters view of him. Leading them to think that he was but a lump when it came to matters of wizardry and that he was only good for his abilities as a Prophet. Tonight he would make good his escape from the rudimentary camp the Sisters would undoubtedly make once order had been returned.

Seeing that order was indeed being restored Nathan turned to the two Sisters nearby. Smiling broadly at them he said "Well my two beautiful young ladies would you be so kind as to escort me to wherever it is the Prelate undoubtedly wants me?" Ignoring the reaction of the Sisters he followed as they turned and started walking, probably to the Prelate he figured. A smile still plastered on his face Nathan started polishing his plan to escape as he was lead deeper in the cluster of Sisters.

NPC----Ann rolled her eyes as she saw the group of sisters coming towards her leading the prophet. She did NOT want to deal with him right now. He would only be trouble in this environment, and she had enough things on her mind as it was.

She had just made the decision to rip the Sisters from their home at the palace based on what the prophet had said. She had just seen the opening in the valley first opened by those she could only assume were Sisters of the Dark, and then close again around half of her Sisters and their charges. They were now stuck either in the clouds of spells or on the other side altogether.

She should not have listened to Nathan. The man was always warning her about some threat or another. Now she had to deal with him being out from behind the protective shields, as well as making sure everyone that was here was all right, and taking stock of who all they had with them. She glanced around at the chaos around her, at the panic in the eyes of the sisters and their charges alike.

No, she did not want to deal with the Prophet right now.

Seeing the look on Prelate's face Nathan made a mental readjustment of his plans.

Turning to the sisters around him he said "Hey, why don't we not bother her right this minute since she seems about ready to set fire to her desk. How about you just guide me someplace out of the way and quiet so that you can keep an eye on me. Then we don't bother the Prelate, you keep me out of trouble, and everyone wins."

Noting the relieved look on the Sisters faces Nathan chalked it up as a win for him. If he can get them to relax and lower their guard enough he can be out of here before they even know it. It'd cause some hard feelings but that was nothing all that new. They would get over it, or they wouldn't. Either way Nathan would accomplish what he felt he needed to and life would go on.

Sitting on the grass where the Sisters had led him Nathan pondered how quickly Ann would calm down once she learned he had left. He would definitely have to make sure to leave enough false trails and distractions to give him a strong head start so that he wouldn't have to find out in person.

Nathan sat patiently and ate some food that the Sisters had sent waiting for nightfall to come.

warren, had little to do since the majority of the books of prophecy had been left behind. in his haste he had only been able to sneak one book, that they were planning on leaving behind, out of the library. it wasn't even one he liked to study it was just one of minimal importance. Oh well, it left him time to try to see who was around and who had been left behind.
Many books, as well as sisters, and a few of their charges, were trapped in the valley, and only 39% of the palace had managed to cross before it closed if his estimation was correct. he hopped most unaccounted for were on the other side, not trapped within, but he knew that the numbers wern't going to be nice, if they ever even found out a number who excaped to the other side. He guessed that of 20% of those unnacounted for were lost to the valley.
Warren guessed that it was best to approach the prelate with these numbers. so he started looking for her in the chaos of the camp.

NPC--Ann watched as the Sisters led the Prophet away to a little spot by himself. Her brow wrinkled, he was up to something. She rolled her eyes. When was he ever not up to something? she thought to herself. No matter, the Sisters knew how important he was. They would keep an eye on him.

She noticed a young man walking towards her. "Is there something i can help you with Warren?" She asked politely, trying to to show how stressed she was.

Nathan watched as Warren walked up to the Prelate's tents. All the while wondering what it was that Warren was doing. Hopefully it was important else he might end up with his hide nailed to a board. Nathan would have hated to see that happen given Warren's potential. Especially in the field of prophecy.

Adding Warren into his calculations Nathan decided to find out what it was Warren was doing or at least wanted to say to the Prelate. Nathan did not want to miss anything that may prove to be critical to know later. As he continued to sit Nathan started figuring out how he would find out what Warren had to say.

Nathan finally settled on the simplest of the ideas. Let the Warren make whatever report he was aiming to make and then "run into" him after he left and find out what it was Warren had to say.

Warren walked toward the prelate's tent, feeling the air crackle with power. He knew that she was not in the best of moods, but he must confront her due to the dire conditions of these numbers.
He walked up to the prelate cautiously . "umm, excuse me prelate, but there are a few problems that i need to point out. I estimate that less than 40% of our sisters and charges made it across before the barrier closed again. most of which were some of our eldest and wisest sisters. Thankfully almost all of the young wizards made it across, the creators years of work are still fruitful. However the larger problem is that almost none of our important books of prophecy have made it, they are either lost to the sands, or worse, in Jangangs hands."
As he finished forcing his way through this he braced himself for a lashing.

When the prelate had not responded immediately warren got ready to move on to the next subject.
"not only do we have less than half the palace, there have already been 7 people caught trying to run away, who have just given up on the creators cause and tried to escape, the guards we posted were fearful to approach you with this."

((OOC sorry! my computer wouldnt let me into this thread for like 3 days! sweatdrop ))

NPC-Ann sighed and rubbed her eyes. She knew how bad their situation was but she had hoped to keep it from everyone else, especially the young men in training. This boy was very bright and his concerns about the books to say the least was shared by her. She had done what she had to, and there was not time to grab the books or destroy them. Nathan had managed to collect a few that had been in his rooms at the time but all the others.....

As she looked into the boys blue eyes, she found her self unable to come up with a satisfactory response. She didnt even fully understand it herself. Nathan had been very urgent on the fact that they needed to leave. As much as the man wanted to be free of his bonds, she knew that this was not a trick. This had been one of the rare times where the Prophet had shown her a prophesy, not just read it to her. But now, with the losses they had sustained to both sister and precious books of prophesy, she wondered if it would have been better to try to fight.

She sighed again and took her gaze from the boys eyes. "Thank you Warren for that information. There is nothing we can do about it now. We are in the Creators hands. And as for people trying to escape, as long as it is not the Prophet or a boy with a collar around his neck, tell the guards to let them go. If they do not want to be here than they have the right to leave."

She turned her back on Warren and went back to studying whatever it was on the little table behind her. Her advisors pushed Warren back from the tent. "The prelate is busy just now. You will need to return to your section now" they said in stern voices.

Warren walked away toward the nearest guard post, there he passed along the prelates message to allow anyone who wants to leave the right to do so, as long as they are not the prelate or one of the charges.
He then walked back to his tent and proceeded to reread the texts he had hidden away, he didn't like being outside, he would have prefered to be in the palace vaults, however that was no longer an option. He settled down and waited for some news of what comes next to reach his ear.

Nathan awoke and took gauge of the situation. Carefully he looked around to see who was alert and who was still awake. Specifically he needed to talk to Ann so that he could find out more about Warren. Any other Sister that he asked would immediately be suspicious and report it back. It would cause nothing but a massive mess and probably add danger to the young man that didn't need to be there.

Seeing that the Prelate was in fact still up (or at least the lantern was still lit) Nathan pulled on his cowled robe and strode purposefully over to Ann's tent startling untold numbers of Sisters in the process.

Quickly he ducked into the Prelate's tent and sat down before the Sisters could even think of using the rada'han on him.

"Hello Ann! Pleasant evening isn't it? I won't bother you for more then a second or two but we need to talk about Warren."

NPC-Ann looked up startled at the sudden intrusion, but it was not altogether unexpected. The conversation however.... "Warren. Why Warren? He is a boy, still untrained fully. What interest could you have in him?" She continued reading the papers in front of her. She knew that she would not be able to hide anything from the prophet, so she did not try. She knew why he was interested in the boy. The boy had the gift for prophecy, and she was sure that Nathan would know that.

"Let's cut straight to the point." Nathan said fixing the infamous Rahl stare at Ann.

"We both know the young lad has great potential for Prophecy and you are keeping him from a genuine prophet. I thought the Sisters were about educating young wizards; not about keeping them in the dark. He needs help and instruction that no one but me could give him."

Nathan sat back to see Ann's response. Hopefully he'd be able to get access to the young man without too much of the Sister's interference to help him wizard to wizard. Course he was unsure whether Warren even knew that he existed. Nathan wasn't exactly allowed the greatest of social access.

NPC-Ann snorted in response to what he said. "you want me to let you have access to a young wizard, with no sisters around to watch you? Nathan, be serious. We are not back in the palace with shields to guard you. We are most certainly not going to let you just wander around to your hearts content. And you know very well why I cannot let you.

And as for Warren, we do not know for sure that he has the gift of prophecy. He has not given any prophecies. He just likes studying them, thats all."

She looked at him for a long moment. "Your request is denied Nathan. You will have sisters or guards watching you at all times. Now, I have more important matters to attend to, if you will please excuse me."
