On average, How do you handle a Rathalos?
Me: I toss a flashbomb and go all-out until all of its removable body parts are missing
by then its usually weak enough to ill or capture.
Normally I'd use a Longsword, Greatsword or lance

Thats pretty much how I go about it too. But since I usually use a hammer I test my luck with boomerangs to knock off its tail. XD I usually get it once I'm on my final boomerang XD;

I use longsowrds mainly so I bring a pitfall and shock trap and use one about midway through and hack at it. Then when it escapes I toss a flashbomb (even though my accuracy with those is not so good xp ) and then unleash a combo on it. By then it usually is weak enough to capture.

Flashbombs can be tricky, heres a tip
when the monster is looking directly at you and is almost completely paused turn around and toss it at the screen, Its practically a guaranteed success

I hate fighting with anything but dual swords (although I have good aim as a gunner, who has the skill to shoot, aim, and dodge at the same time?), so what I do is get a really good weapon, and bring anything I can possible use: flash bomds, shock traps, etc. and I also make sure I have good defense and immunity. If you have poor immunity, it'll come back to get you I promise. And then I just wait where I know it lands at one point and lay a trap. That's why I do most rathalos hunts in forests an hills, because it always lands in 3. and then I put a trap on that narrow part and wait for the idiot to charge. Note: wind resistant armor is a huge bonus because he loves to fly around like a little retard.

See, I have seen that done in videos and yet I do not understand why throwing it AWAY in some cases from the monster causes it to work. I'll use that method now though seeing as everyone does it that way. I always tried to hit the face but that works 1 out of 5 times.
