Pumpkie yawned and stretched her short legs. The outside world was beautiful today and her owner, Kielah, wanted her to spend some time outside. As much as Pumpkie liked it inside her home, she loved the feeling of the grass under her feet, and the smell of autumn leaves falling from the sky. Pumpkie stood up and surveyed her surroundings. There was a tall willow tree nearby that grabbed her attention.
"Should I try to climb it?" She asked herself. Tapping an orange finned finger against her cheek.
After coming to the conclusion that the tree itself wouldnt harm her, but her clumsiness might, she decided to attempt it. She walked up to the tree and put one webbed foot onto the hard wood. The branches looked sturdy enough to hold her, so she reached up and grasped one of the limbs. It creaked with her weight, but she carried on. Up and up she climbed, until she reached the very top. The tree wasnt as sturdy near the top but she managed to sit herself close to the center, and in between two branches.
"Oh look at that view! You can see across all the land." She said while shielding the sun from her eyes. "Well this is quite a treat..." However, little did Pumpkie know that the tree was beginning to bend dangerously forward. She heard a snap, and turned her head to look at the branch she was sitting on.
"Oh no! No no no please dont break!" Her panicking did little to avail her, and the branch finally gave.
"Aaaaaahhhhhh!" Pumpkie screamed as she fell through the branches to the ground. She landed with a 'oof' and sprawled out.
"Am.. Am i still alive?" She tried to push herself up but was too out of breath.
"Ugh..." Her eyes fluttered open and closed against the bright sunlight. :I guess Seamonkeys, aren't 'monkeys' after all." Pumpkie sighed, and got up, dusting herself off in the process.

Beep! Beep! Beep Garrick rolled to his side and hit his alarm clock's button down with a hard slap. It took a moment before the ringing to stop in his ears. Getting up slowly, he glanced at this calendar and noted the day. Great... Today was 'go outside and wander' day. He wasn't in the mood to right now, but knew if he didn't go he would be scolded later on. Knowing that the only way for it to be done and over with was to actually do it, Garrick scooted out of bed, brushed his teeth, cleaned his tail, and headed out the door.

The sun was bright outside. The clear blue sky and green trees were just what the doctor ordered. Garrick's mood instantly lightened. Where should he head to today? He took a coin out of his pocket and flipped it in the air. Heads meant he's explore to the right. Tails meant he'd explore to the left. The coin flew high up in the air, shining as it hit the light. Garrick caught it in his right palm, and placed it over his left hand, still covering what the coin showed. He lifted his hand ever so slightly and peered at the coin. Heads! Guess that means to the right he would go. Strange how he'd been living in the city for a good few months, but hadn't really taken the time to wander around and get acquainted with his new surroundings. It was his goal after all. Culinary mastery. Not wanting to get too serious today, he shook off thoughts of work and headed in his now decided destination.

The city was surprisingly quite busy today. He inter weaved through crowds of random Seamonkeys going about their business. Tall towers stretched high in the sky and cast long shadows on the sidewalk. Garrick peered into windows of shops as he passed them by. He past by a flower shop, a few home improvement warehouses, and a card and stationary store. Upon turning another corner he came upon a small park. The sign on the right read Morbrook Park. He looked around. It was empty. All the kids must still be in school. Taking full advantage of the lack of Seamonkeys around, he grabbed one of the side bars of the spinning wheel and ran in circles gaining speed as he did. Once he started to run out of breath he hopped onto it gripping the bar tightly with both hands. The feeling of air whooshing by felt good on his face. He stood there, happily spinning until the wheel came to a gentle stop. He chuckled to himself wondering where the strange urge to ride it in the first place came from. Maybe he had been too serious lately. He needed to enjoy the little things more. His stomach growled, reminding him that he should probably go home and eat something. Strange how he hadn't thought of it before he left. After dusting himself off, Garrick jumped off the wheel and headed home. He laughed at the thought of what he was going to tell his owner that he did today. Maybe, just maybe, he'd take out the little park ride so he wouldn't feel too foolish.

Garrick sat at his dining room table, anxiously tapping the top. The cab should be there any minute. Today was the day he would see his children. Funny how it worked actually. His owner had decided to breed his DNA with another Sea Monkey that he had never even met! He hoped she had some taste and at least chose an attractive one. There was only one way to tell and today was that day. The next few minutes that ticked by seemed like hours. Garrick was anxious to see them... Anxious and nervous. They would be great, he was sure.

Honk! Honk! The sound of the car horn startled Garrick out of his day dreaming. He got up quickly. Not even taking the time to push the chair back under the table, he dashed out the front door and pulled it closed behind him. He crossed the porch and got into the cab, finally taking a breath as he sat down.

"To this address, please." Garrick handed the piece of paper given to him with the address he was bound.

"Right-o sir." The cab driver glanced at the address before starting the car and driving away.

Garrick tried to calm his anxiousness by watching the houses and streets whiz by. The drive was short. He sat in silence, not wanting to make idle chatter with the driver. As the car slowed in front of a decent sized home, the driver said this was his stop. Garrick thanked him, paid for this ride and stepped outside. The cab drove away leaving him standing at the front of the house. Garrick closed his eyes for a moment and inhaled deeply. Upon opening them, he studied the exterior. Sure, it felt odd that he was now a father purely by an unknown act, but that didn't mean he couldn't make sure his kids were in a good place. The exterior of the house was a bright cheery yellow and the yard was dotted with a mixture of yellow, white, purple and red flowers. This would do. It was beautiful.

Garrick made his way to the front door, pulled out the key that was sent to him along with the address paper, and slowly opened the front door. The door squeaked ever so slightly as it opened. He peered inside before stepping all the way in.

"Hello?" Garrick's voice echoed in the room. There was no answer... The living room was just as bright and cheery as the outside. There were already two desks set up with a cozy looking reading area to the side. Garrick searched the entire downstairs, taking note of the spacious kitchen and cute backyard.

He climbed the left staircase and came upon a red bedroom. There he saw the tiny basket. This little one must be a boy. The room was decorated so manly. He crouched over it and looked inside to see the green and brown blanket inside the basket. He knew how Sea Monkeys grew, but he could never get over the fact of how such amazing creatures came from the baskets. He loved the color of this one and watched it for a moment more before checking out the rest of the room and bathroom.

He then opened the adjoining door to the pink room to and saw the basket sitting in there. This one was definitely female. Garrick hunched over the basket and saw the black and white blanket inside. This one he knew was his. She had the exact coloring of him. He was glad she was female though. It would feel odd to have a 'mini him' with his exact coloring running around. He got up slowly, making sure to be as quiet as possible, checked out the rest of the room and bathroom, then headed down the stairs again.

This home was great. More than great, actually. It was perfect for them. They would grow quickly and be able to live here happily. Garrick knew he would be around often to come and spend time with them. His owner let him know that they would be in the best of care and he need only to make sure to be readily available to them to nurture their Sea Monkey father need. He could do that. He was more than willing. Before leaving the house, Garrick took out his wallet and fished out a scrap of white paper. On it he wrote "Welcome to the world little ones. I love you." He went into the kitchen, found a magnet and placed it on the refrigerator. He wanted to make sure they'd have something there to always remind them of him. Garrick left the home and made sure to lock the door behind him as he went.
