Here's a super-freaky/creepy rooster-killin' first-year Ginny, from my very favorite deviant-artist.
Here are terribly two bad-quality photos of my lunchbox that I made. Stupid flash, I should have photog'ed it before applyinging the UV varnish. It's way too red, despite my best cyanings, and the contrast won't fix properly; you can't really see all the tiny fangirl detail, like that freckled Ron and Ginny are all flushed with Quidditch-playing sunburns, or that there's flecks of 14k gold leaf in Ginny's eyes:

Here's the planning sketch. I knew I wanted the book-illo kids rather than the actors. I knew I wanted the Harry/Ron chatty ease to be central, but I couldn't bring myself to put Harry between Ron and Hermione, and felt uncomfortable with Ron in the middle. Gin solved the problem, created this gorgeous palindromic balance, and dammit, she deserves a spot!
(and notice where Harry's arm is) In any case, she's the best part of the sketch (and painting), so my ego (bruised by how much trouble Hermione's expression was...note it changed like a zillion times, and is totally different in the end-product!) was pleased by her inclusion.

I love that you can look at Ron and see every feature that I consider attractive in a guy: pale, cheekbones, strong jaw, red hair with a slight curl on top....
projectiohuh? what?I'm getting an
art tablet for my birthday, though, so I can make pretty pictures
on my computer! eep. Just in time to get proper my fab sketch of teary solar-system Hermione that simply won't scan right....
