Xarik'n unloaded The Crew as I have now come to term our rabble of misfits off onto a lush, green carpet of grass; they were on a hill, with skies as blue as anyone had ever seen them. The air was fresh and sweet, gently singing through the treetops. Sallia rose from the hillside, a bit stronger but wobbly, as she stretched open her arms towards the vast amounts of land before them. She felt completely at peace and in bliss; she had missed this place so much....
"Welcome to Eryn Aertarag..." she laughed breathlessly. "I'm home..."
"WOOOOOWWWWWW, how'd you do that?!!!!" a small child squealed, rushing up to them, blond hair and bright turquoise-grey eyes questioning the newcomers. Suddenly, his face lit up, and he went pouncing Thranduil.
"GRANDPA!"
Sallia blushed and laughed nervously, scooting over to Legolas.
Well, I guess that would answer their innermost questions of what Thranduil's face would look like if that happened. ^_^;
"And..and.. ADA!!!!!! WOW!!!!! ADA'S COOL!!!!" Vala giddily exclaimed, then pouncing Legolas. "HI!!!!!!"
Sallia laughed, and Vala gave her a hug while affectionately nuzzling her. "Mooooooom, why haven't you visited?!!!"
She stroked his hair affectionately. "Mom's been going on a lot of important journeys so we can stay her, my little one. "
"Oh. Ok!" Vala happily chirped. "Do I get to keep them?!!!!"
Sallia laughed. "OF course you do!!! Why not?!"
"COOL!!!!!!" Vala cheered.
"Um....Guys, this is my...erm...our....son..." Sallia laughed nervously. "Vala, meet all of Ada's friends and your family..."
"UNCLE SHANRA! HI!!! And HI!!! And hi!!!" he continued, before climbing atop of Legolas again. "I really get to keep them!?!!"

Legolas was so startled that he nearly fell over when Vala sprang at him. He had caught the child, looking at him in wonder as he squirmed to go and say hello to other people. Now that he was in the prince's arms once again, Legolas did not know what to say.
"When did? How did?" Thranduil was certainly at a loss for words, "Legolas! You knew?!"
The blond archer shrugged, "Well yes and no. Sallia only told me last night." he looked to the boy, "Mae Govannan, Vala. It is so good to finally meet you, tithen pen."
Those words struck a chord in both Thranduil and Legolas, for it had been the prince's nickname for Legolia. Now that she was in Melkor's hands...
They both shrugged off the melencholy, having more important things that their attention needed to be on.
"So Vala," Legolas began, not quite sure what to say, "Have you been good for those here while your mother was away?"

Vala grinned. "For the most part."
"VALA!!!!!"
He laughed nervously. "I've been with you for the past 15 minutes. Ok?"
Sallia wagged her finger at him, scolding. "Have you been messing with Tsuchi again?!!!"
Vala smiled sweetly. "I thought he'd feel better without his fur. It's always so hot out here, and he's always panting!!"
Sallia deadpanned.
Shanra raised an eyebrow. "Hey....Didn't YOU do tha---"
Sallia shot "The look" at him, and smiled. "Don't do that again Vala....But I must confess, I think he likes his fur better sometimes."
Vala nodded.
And as for Thranduil, she glanced to her elder with a calm, understanding look. "When I birthed him, it was here; I kept him here while I was journeying so I knew he was safe."
"More like, knew that WE were safe..." Shanra teased.
"I'm not THAT bad!" Vala pouted.
Shanra grinned. "Oh? Is that so?"
Vala gave a mischievious grin, which Shanra and Xar shared in, and all three understood eachother perfectly for that moment.
After that, well, frankly, it was shot down.
"What of your studies?" Sallia inquired softly. "Have you been shirking them?"
"Of course!" Vala exclaimed.
"Wrong answer, kiddo." Xarik'n winced.
"...not..." Vala tried to correct, but Sallia shook her head.
"Aii, aii, my little one, you need to attend classes. I didn't go, and there were all sorts of important things I missed. When you're old enough, you'll learn to fight like your ada and uncle Shanra; in fact, Uncle Shanra and Uncle Fifi will probably be your teachers. One day, you might even inherit this place." She bonked his nose with the tip of her finger.
He giggled. "Hey, Mum???"
"Yes, sweety???" Sallia cooed sweetly at him, taking him up into her arms.
"Is...it ok...to...well...kinda sorta....shootfireballsfromthetipsofmyfingerssometimes???"
Sallia blinked a few, and then looked to Shanra. He grinned and shrugged.
"So you have more of your Mom's ada in you than I thought...." She shook her head softly. "Oi, you're going to be a handful..."
"A handful of what??? Pickles?? Coins??? Flowers??? Cat fur??? Beads??? Swords??? I like swords... Pebbles? What?"
Sallia shook her head, raising him atop her shoulder. "I'll explain when you're older. Legolas, my friends, please feel free to look around. I'm going to drop Vala off at his studies for the next half hour; I'll be seeing Mother if you need me."
"Ohhhh, she's maaaaaaaaad at youuuuuu...." Vala whispered.
"I know dear. I know." Sallia sighed. "Um, living quarters are up..." She pointed up to the multiple buildings in the trees and on their branches. "Gardens, down here..." She pointed to floor level. "Library-slash-Temple, well....You'd never guess, but it's this big stone monument... Nature....Well.....You get the idea. If you need a bath, there are plenty of streams over this hill. Any questions, as a monk, or Xarik'n, or Shanra. If you're hungry, the place again to go is up, or find a campfire on the ground somewhere. Someone will help you gather berries or something."
After kissing Vala goodbye and leaving him with the priests, she ran off into the forests, down the trail and into the clearing that held the Tree Mother; this tree was clearly the grandest and most vibrant tree of the group, towering well above even the level of the treehouses and such.
"Mother!!!" Sallia called up, the tree responding by glowing a soft lilac. "I've come back, but by no means does this mean I am finished! How did you know of the events that have just come to pass, before they even happened???"
The tree glowed a bit more, and then a huge feminine figure emerged from the bark.
"The same way you heal, or dream, Sallia." the Tree Mother responded. "I see you are with and without many things. Tell me, whatever happened to your necklace...?" Her voice was stern and reprimanding.
"Nufeniel, and Melkor have it, though I do not know if they are even aware of this." Sallia admitted, falling to one knee and bowing her head.
"I thought you would not return to Eden Cuil until this was finished...?"
Sallia winced slightly. "Extenuating circumstances, Tree Mother.... I was led there by fate after losing my way. I did beat up Nufeniel though."
This caused the deva to grin somewhat, if she had facial expressions to grin with. "Well then. You are following your path as I hoped you would."
"Huh?" Sallia looked up at her, confuzzled.
The Tree Mother just laughed. "I don't expect you to understand. What I do expect, is for you to return with the last item from the Ash Mountains, as I'm sure you knew. Things will be difficult without that charm. A great deal of harm could come to this place, if my power fails, my child."
The conversation extended well into the hour, but in the city, things were continuing as normal....that is, as normal as things COULD be, for such a strange place.

Legolas had nodded, but opted for staying on the hillside. His heart, while glad at being with his wife and at meeting his son, was filled with doubt. Thranduil saw it, and calmly walked over to the prince.
"What are you thinking, ion nin?" he asked, standing next to the archer as they viewed the landscape before them.
They watched as Haldir, along with his brothers, took Aras, Avian, and Avian's children toward the treetop dwellings. They saw Elladan and Rana, helping a nearly recovered Elrohir down the hill, Aragorn not far behind. (((OOC: Merry, I'm about to steal Ro from you, but you already said I could so oh well.))) Elandere was with Lenora and Glorfindel, the former still did not know about Legolia's kidnapping. Of course, neither did Gabriel, Twilight, of Dawn, for that small group was also making their way down the hill. It seemed Caldor and Faramir were discussing something as they walked, with Huor not far behind. (((OOC: The reason for saying this about all your characters guys, is so that you know that you are alive and well and that you can RP in this thread with your character.))) He saw Sario, standing alone, watching the trees. It struck him as odd that she was not looking for Legede... then he remembered that he did not see either the captain or Talli. If they were injured however, Legolas had the upmost confidence in the healers of this place. Lastly, he watched as both Xarik'n's, Shanra, and Alandis spoke of some matter that the prince knew nothing of.
Legolas sighed, "Ada..."
"We will find her." Thranduil replied.
"Yes, ada... but who will find her? I can not go to them... not again... And it is I they are after, why else take my sister?" he asked, turning his blue gaze up to the elder Elf. "They will not give her up without a fight."
The Elvenking nodded before looking to his son. He gave him a small smile, setting a hand on his shoulder.
"Then we shall have to give them that fight." Thranduil said, before walking down the hill.
Legolas shook his head as he sat on the hillside. He could make it to Mithlond in two days time, from there charter a ship from Cirdan to sail down to the Anduin. He could be in Gondor within the week. However, doing something like that, the prince knew, would highly upset his sea longing. Who was the say he was strong enough to keep the boat on course and not sail to Valinor instead.
He would save his sister... because it was his life they wanted. In reality, Legolas did not care if they killed him, a small part of him welcomed it, for he had gotten to meet his son and see his wife one last time.
'Xarik'n' Legolas directed the though toward the elder of the demons. 'I have a favor to ask...'

avien was carrying a wailing Haldir II and sundin sat in Aras's arms sobbing as well.
PostPosted: Tue Jan 25, 2005 1:59 pm

Both Rumil and Orophin were trying to to cheer Haldir II up. Rumil made funny faces at him, trying to get him to stop crying, while Orophin tickled the little Elfling.
Haldir himself was trying to ease Sundin's sobs. "Sidh, tithen pen. All is well."

Haldir II stopped crying and looked at Rumil and Orophin, sniffling, suddenly he reached out and grasped a hand full of hair from each of his uncles.

Sundin looked at her uncle "how come they want us dead?!?" she sniffled Aras hugged her and smiled "shhh, it is only becuase we are good elves and they don't want anymore good left in this world." "but why would someone want that?" Aras thought for a moment "i do not know," she sighed finally

Rumil and Orophin both laughed, for thankfully Haldir II did not pull their hair to hard.

Haldir took Sundin from Aras' arms, sitting down upon the grass with the little girl in his lap.
"I will tell you a story, Sundin. And it is a true tale, as true as any in the history of the Elves. Long ago, when the song of the world was being sung, there was one of Eru's faithful that wanted the world made for himself. His notes in Eru's song caused chaos to reign upon the world. A deep ugliness settled in places of the world. Eru cursed the Vala who's notes in the song had become so tainted. He became Melkor... Morgoth... the most evil creature in all of Arda, and now the one whom we are battling against. Like the sons of Feanor, and the Elves of old... we continue the struggle against his darkness."

Caldor sighed in frustration, for he did not care for the purple haired demon, as he looked to Faramir, "It appears, m'lord, that this is the work of Xarik'n. I am sure he has brought many of the horses of the city as well."

aras listened to haldir just as intently as Sundin "Uncle haldir? is it wrong for me to feel sorry for him?" she asked in a whisper

Avien patted Haldir II's hand until the child let go of their hair, she smiled at her two brothers "hannon le"

Rumil shook his head, "No thanks... I was only saving all of our eardrums." he joked while Orophin let Haldir II hold tightly to his hand.

~~~
Haldir smiled slightly as he thought over the Elfling's question. "No... it is not a bad thing. Though, to tell you the truth, I myself do not feel sorry for Melkor, for he brought it upon himself." he shook his head, looking Sundin in the eyes. "I think, perhaps, that you have a bigger heart than my own, for such a question shows your compassion for all, even those who would strike out at the free peoples of this world."
Sallia returned to the living areas after her conference with the Tree Mother, but she looked pretty exhausted.
Xarik'n laughed. "Horses, stables, thattaway!" He pointed them off in the right direction. **Yes, Legolas????**
Sallia stretched with a small yawn. "I don't know what you two are talking about, but be forewarned, if I find out it's something I don't particularly like, more like, if I find out it'll severely piss me off, expect a beating."
Xarik'n laughed nervously. "You're far too paranoid, Sallia..."
She just tapped her temple with her finger, and then pointed at him.
"Just because you can hear all of us, don't think that some of us cannot hear you." She curled up in the grass, stress and worry expressed in all of her body language. With Legolia gone, as well as the necklace, she was in deep, deep thought, troubled with how to proceed.
First thing was first, she would have to recraft the pendant. Once that was over with, the energy would be equally distributed until one was destroyed. She would give it to either Xarik'n or more likely Legolas; knowing her husband as she did, whether it was herself, his father, or his sister or friends, it didn't matter. He would take it upon himself to save whoever near him was in danger.
She'd follow him of course. She held back a chuckle at the thought.
Once Legolia was saved, she of course would go to the Ash Mountains, find whatever it was she was seeking, and bring it back. With Legolas busy keeping his people organized here, it would give her enough time to accomplish everything she needed to, and keep him out of more trouble.
She could then bring everything together, complete her quest, and return to her family in peace until they were assaulted again.
She'd get to visit Hobbiton again. She was pleased at that thought; technically, it was in that area that she had met Legolas for the first time. She'd probably rent a room there...
She laughed out loud remembering the snowballs she pelted at them the next morning, the little hobbits and especially that elf. She peeked out to watch Legolas; suddenly, she felt like her mischievious self. He WAS sitting on the hill....
She crouched, getting ready to pounce. **Five, four, three, two, one....!!!!!** She sprung, tackling the elf and grabbing his legs.
"HA!!!" she exclaimed triumphantly, snatching off his boots with expert speed! "Bet you thought that THIS wouldn't happen again!!!" she cheered gleefully, before cackling and deciding to roll down the hill. It was the fastest means of escape, anyhow, and there was a path to get back up. Hugging the boots close to her chest, she rolled, and rolled, and rolled....
Well, hopefully she wouldn't get sick.
'Take me to Mordor' Legolas' thoughts went out to Xarik'n. 'I have to save my sister. If you do not take me, I will journey there myself... no matter how long it takes.'
But when Sallia snatched his boots away, he sighed.
"Meleth, I hardly think..." he shook his head, standing and running down the hill, actually catching up with his wife.
The prince tackled her, pinning her to the ground beneath him.
"My boots, please."
~~~

Haldir smiled, "No. No one deserves to be lonely and unloved... but it does happen from time to time, tithen pen."

~~~
Rumil and Orophin both deadpanned.
"WHAT?!" they exclaimed at once.
