I went with my friend Cody to the Mandalay Bay Events Center around 11, and we waited the rest of the day for the gates to open. Thankfully, we were inside and didn't have to deal with the 100 degree weather, and I got to meet some people from the GDC (greendaycommunity.org) that I had talked to on the Las Vegas thread as well as one guy named Steve from LA. We played with Cody's silly putty, I listened to their iPods, and made signs that said MISERY on them to hold up to get them to play it. One of the girls I met got into sound check (lucky D smile and told me they played that and Scattered, but they never played it at the show. In fact, when I ran to the booth and got my wristband, the lady took away my little paper sign. D: b***h. Lmfao.

So then I rushed over to section 121 (or 122, forgot) and the guy at the bottom had to let me know, "It's okay, see? There is plenty of room for you to get to the front." I guess he saw how I was rushing; I mean, I wasn't like..."OMG OGMOGMGOG OGM" or anything, I was just not about to wait all day to end up somewhere I didn't want to stand at. xd Luckily, the guy was right, and I got to stand in front of Mike; oddly enough, we ran into the girl I know who got into sound check.

I saw my best friend in the seats and waved before Franz Ferdinand came on, and Cody sent her a text for me saying, "Shara, we love you!" and I proposed to her over the phone, jokingly. XDD

Franz Ferdinand was alright, they didn't do a bad job singing their songs at all. I just wasn't that into it; not much went on, just us kind of watching. Plus, I haven't really listened to them much.

The pink bunny was awesome, of course, and he ended up sitting in front of the drums with his shirt tugged off from him like a towel wrapped over where there would be boobs. Y'know, he was just doing his thing.

Then...Green Day came on. Let me tell you all now, I have never had this much fun in my life. I really, REALLY want the next Vegas show to come up soon. That, or someone needs to give me a s**t load of money to go to some of their European shows. xd

They played a lot of great songs, like Going to Pasalacqua, Murder City, Brainstew/Jaded, etc. Basically, according to someone (I was too lazy to check for accuracy), the same set list as the Denver show but without American Eulogy. I am really disappointed about not getting to hear that song...but the concert was still ******** AMAZING.

I did not stop singing, dancing, jumping, or anything along those lines until the venue lights came on and the guys left after their encore. I made a face at Tre, he made one back, Billie looked over in my direction (though I made eye contact cause I was noticing how long his hair has gotten compared to pictures I've seen) during some of JOS, and at the end of the show, I pointed at my shirt that I had painted and grinned at Mike, giving him a big thumbs up, and he did it right back at me. I was so happy. biggrin

If you haven't seen Green Day perform live, you better. >D If you want to see them up close, GET THERE EARLY. I promise, you will not regret it. Pretty much everyone who went to the show, including Cody and his parents, thought I was an idiot until they actually saw them play for the first time...then I got to bask in the triumph of proving them wrong and showing them why the ******** I am even as big of a Green Day fan as I am. You will not be sorry; you definitely get your money's worth no matter where you in the arena you get to see them from.

Oh, and by the way: During Murder City, I don't know why, but the minute they played that song I started crying. Not SOBBING or anything, but I did have to stop to hide behind the one girl's hair that I met so that the guards and the band wouldn't see me so I could wipe some of the tears away. xd I hate people seeing my cry. But yeah, that song just hit me hard; I was definitely diggin' it.

As far as pictures go, I didn't take any. I don't have a camera or any phone with that option, but I didn't want to bring one anyways. I wanted to be as much in the moment as possible, and I feel like me, personally, taking pictures would just distract me. However, Cody took pictures, and I'll post those with permission once he does.

For now, I just have this picture of me after I got ready. xd You can't see my shirt I painted, but I'll get a picture of that up later on.
