The first thing we have to decide is what era we want to have the next RP in. The last one was set right after the events of KotOR 1 and 2, so I'd prefer it if we focused on an era away from that time. Other than that, I'm pretty much open to suggestions...

I'd like to do one in the Rebellion era, since most of the technologies in SW source materials have been invented by then. It would place some restrictions on those who like playing force-users, though.
Post ROTJ would be cool as well, though I don't know too much about that era...

Post ROTJ would be sweet, I know a lot about that era. If we did that it wouldn't put that much restriction in. It wasn't too long after the destruction of the second Death Star that Luke began his Jedi Academy/Enclave on Yavin IV in the old Rebel base. One the first large threat of the Dark Side was the Shadow Academy which attacked the base with numerous Sith and just as many Jedi. But this attack was maybe 14-16 years after Battle of Endor.
About 120-130 years ABY was the rise of Darth Krayt, aka A'Sharad Hett. His forces were much like Revan's and Malak's, though they're were very few Jedi. It was a time much like that of KoTOR II.

Post-ROTJ would be a lot less restrictive than the Rebellion era, though there are still relatively few force-users running around and virtually no Sith. (Unless we're talking about Krayt's time and beyond...)
If memory serves me correctly, the Shadow Academy was more Dark Jedi than true Sith. Still plenty of room for Force Adepts, such as the Jensaarai and the Witches of Dathomir.

Good point. And yeah there weren't any real Sith until Krayt.
The Jensaarai and Witches aren't really a big threat/issue though. Don't really hear about them much except for maybe references to the Singing Mountain Clan(I think) which is where Tenal Ka comes from.
Most Force users are Luke's students.

We could turn it into an alternate universe kind of thing. Don't have any posted anywhere(yet) but I've written a number of fanfics where Luke turns to the Dark Side. Two that take place between V and VI where Luke realizes that Obi-Wan lied to him and thus he feels betrayed, and then that betrayal turns into hatred for both Yoda and Obi-Wan and then you know where that path leads.
Another, more flimsy one, where he kills Vader and after realizing that he struck down in anger he kinda does what Anakin did in III and just gives into the Dark Side, has Home One destroyed in which causes the Rebel's to retreat, Han's group gets left behind, Luke then immediately betrays the Emperor and takes over the Empire.
Never went beyond that but I'd figure he starts a Praxeum on the Death Star II, but never really considered anything along those lines.
Just to throw some ideas out there.

Well, all RP's are kinda alternate universes anyway, because what the players do has an affect on the galaxy-at-large.
If we do post-ROTJ, I'd like to focus on the period after the Yuuzhan Vong war and before the Legacy comics. I'm gonna go do some research and come back with some more ideas...

That's about the time when Jacen goes off on his little quest to understand the Force. Visits the Baran Do Sages, as well as... kark I can't remember what they're called. When I come up with the name I will let you know. Starts his path towards the Dark Side about that time. I have several books that take place during that time I think, as well as my Essential Guide to Chronology. I'll look into it.

I meant the time after that as well. I want to play in an era where there isn't too much source material going on, that way we can do what we want without worrying about mucking about with any official source.

No matter what era we end up playing in, we need to reach a decision soon. The RP is one of the best ways to attract and keep new members, and if we're going to have any kind of success in the near future than we need to get it up and running.
So my vote is for the era before Krayt, after everything else.

I'm thinking New Jedi Order - Legacy era so Yuzhan Vong war to the second galactic civil war and beyond...I am up to date with Legacy and Njo and am starting the newest book...any thing her would be cool as well as empire era...

I just made a deal with Dream Han, and she has agreed to participate in the upcoming adventures. I'd like to get her opinion on the matter before we reach a final decision.
