So, this could just be me being paranoid (as my mom tells me I am) but for as long as I can remember, when I get near a light post that is getting closer to needing its bulb changed, it goes out.
At first I always figured I was just noticing it cause they would go out apparently randomly. But for a summer, my friend would always come to my house, and I'd always have to drive her home sometime late at night. There is a street light right at the end of the street, and no fail every time I would stop at the stop sign, the light would flick out. My friend pointed it out to me and started laughing every time we'd get there and it would flick out.
They always turn back on again afterwards, it just seems like when I get near them, they lose power.
Ssoo, does anybody know anything about this? Am I just a paranoid person (probably am anyway) Should I suck it up and just ignore it?
Anything would help ^-^

I've heard of that stuff happening. There are only two ways I can think that would happen. By pushing the power, energy, or what ever away or by drawing it to you. So you could think of it like either having a giant forcefeild bubble around you pushing energy back or being like a back whole and sucking al close avalible energy in. It would make sence that the ones getting close to burning out would be the one's to do that. The connections being about to break, would be leaking out energy anyways. It would be easier to draw from. Since your not doing this on purpose, it could become a problem. If it's a feild around you pushing it away, you need to fix it. Although it seems ideal from a protection stand point, it also restricts your ablity to renew your life energy. Think of it like (pardon the crude inaligy) eating your own fecies and drinking your own urine. Yeah you wont ever have to leave the protection of your shelter again, but the nutriance in it will deminish untill you starve to death. If you can't bring new energy in and excreat the old you cold be looking at more stress (for not much of a reason), anxiety, depression, lathargicness, even what they call cubical symdrom. On the flip side you could be constantly drawing masses of energy in, without releasing it. The term most commonly used for this is psykic vampire. This also isn't good. Although it gives you a lot of energy to use (magicaly), usually psykic vampires don't constanly use as much as is drawn in. Think of it like a person with constipation constantly goraging themselves. Lots going in, not much comming out. It can lead to over excitedness (with periods of complete unexplained exhostion), paranoid tendencies, and almost constant uncomfortable feeling in the body and mind. As for how to fix these, I'm not for sure. If I were in your situation, though, I would be meditating everyday to at least find out which I was doing. Just concentrate on your natural energy flow as you breath. Once you find that out I'm sure there is some here that could help you.
Yes, one more thing. I wish I could take credit for knowing all of this, but sadly no I had to get help. That person wants (for some reason) to be annonimous, but thank you anyways. I hope our combined knowlege has helped you. biggrin

It could all be coincidence. because the same thing happened with my friend one time.
The reason why it happens is because lights turn off to store in energy and will turn back on a few minutes later. You just have to luck of it always happening when you're around.
And as I see it you normally take your friend home around the same time each time, so easily explains it, even though lights are very specific about their times when turning off. Every few hours they do it, wither on a schedule or till something tells them they need to conserve energy.
It's not that hard of a phenomenon to explain.

That could make sense, though I can't remember when i was taking her home those nights. Also, that light has stopped doing that to me. Ever since they changed the bulb out. But Hey, at least yours is a nice and I'm paranoid fix. The other one kinda frightens me, since I'm a complete dunce in all things spiritual, so I'd have no idea how to 'fix' any problem i had ^-^

I mean, meditation really isn't something I'm terribly good at. And I wouldn't know my 'energy flow' if it smacked me in the face.

Keep in mind that, by no means, am I an expert. So don't expect my theories to pan out all the time.
Now, in response to your original problem, I have heard of and seen similar things. For instance, my ex would go near a light when he was overly emotional and it would go out. Poof. No real explanation. It could be that he just had ridiculous luck that whenever he got upset a light nearby would go out, but I think it had to do with unconscious energy release.
Similar to Dustin's theory, my theory is that, because you're nervous about it, your energy levels spike and perhaps cause the light to flicker or something. I realize you might not recognize it as such, but it is a possibility.
Also, Taulha made a valid point. If it always was at the same time, it may be a mundane thing that has no real significance.
As to being a psychic vampire, that would drain people you are around for long periods of time, even if you aren't doing anything strenuous. I doubt that this is the case for you, since your friend comes over frequently.
Anyway, hopefully my rambling was at least partially helpful. whee sweatdrop

Alright, so my next question is going to be. How do I find out more about like, spirits and stuff? I had a friend (ex-friend now) who was into all of that, and had told me somethings and peaked my interest again, but now I'm at a loss as to how to actually learn about these things.
And whether or not I want too. I am a paranoid person, and sometimes I have enough trouble thinking as it is.

Well, searching the internet is always a good idea, and looking at your local library for books pertaining to the subject is also a great place to start. Also, I'm certain you will receive more input here. smile

A simple curious question.
What are you so paranoid about?

I'm just one of those people.
It takes a lot for me to trust, and I have some twitchy habits about how my house has to be before I can sleep.
I've always been like this, so unless one day I found out I was in some tramatic event in my early childhood, I'm just going to go with I'm naturally paranoid. Its a common ailment in my family actually. I've had a few relatives who've actually gone completely off grid and live as survivalists.

Maybe you shouldn't be worrying yourself with certain things? Like religions and stuff of that nature if you are that paranoid, even going to a doctor might help you over come some of your problems.
And It seems like you are more suspicious in things that really don't even need attention.
Honestly the best thing for your health right now would be to see a a doctor... I think you should see a psychotherapists. They will analyze your mind, talk to you about certain things and so on.
Do not ever see a Psychiatrist, because they will give you drugs. And drugs can only make you worse.
Honestly the only way someone is naturally paranoid is if they've watched to many horror movies as a child.

Well, for the most part I ignore the light thing. I was just wondering about it because my ex-friend who was into the spiritual stuff said it would make sense that would happen when I went by and I never got a chance to ask him what he meant about that.
I'm paranoid, but its not like I act on my paranoia's for the most part. Sure I lock my doors at night and look out the windows to make sure no one is there, but its never crippled my life. My family is crazy for the most part, I know that. And I see them as funny as anything more then that. My natural tendencies toward isolation only extend as far as I let them.
